It also attempted to investigate the effect of - (a) age of the teachers, (b) special training and (c) years of experience in teaching LD children on the stress level of these teachers. The sample for the present study included 44 female teachers from various institutions for children with learning disabilities in Bangalore. Stress & burnout level in teachers was assessed through a semi-structured interview schedule, Teacher Stress Scale (modified Wilson Stress Profile for Teachers, 1979) and Burnout Inventory (Maslach's Burnout Inventory, 1981). Both qualitative and quantitative analyses were made. The results revealed that of the total 44 teachers, 45.45 percent (20 of them) experienced moderate level of stress and only 2.27 percent (one teacher) experienced high level of stress. The results also revealed that age did not have a significant effect on the nature of stress, stress management and burnout level. It was seen that there is on effect of special training in teaching children with learning disabilities on the nature of stress, stress management & burnout level in terms of managing students in the class. There was a  significant difference in the stress and burnout level in teachers with regard to years of experience. It was also found that emotional exhaustion was significantly higher among teachers who reported moderate level of stress as compared to teachers reporting low level of stress. A qualitative analysis of the interview data suggests that there is a significant amount of denial in the teachers, in terms of their rating on the level of stress experienced by them. Five variables namely; Female Literacy rate to total literacy rate, Sex ratio, Child sex ratio, working female Population to total working population and Total crime against women have been taken into consideration to assess the levels of women empowerment of the state. District wise secondary data has been collected from census and the Karnataka State human development report. The Composite index method has been computed to ascertain the level of women empowerment, which is depicted in choropleth map, and the correlation co-efficient, is used to find out the relationship between Human development index and the level of women empowerment. The analysis reveals that the southern and coastal parts of Karnataka have a higher share of human development index and higher level of women empowerment. The study also reveals that there is a positive relationship between human development and the level of women empowerment in the state. The most striking problem, related to the health infrastructure and health status arises out of the regional imbalance. The study shows that the Gulbarga and Belgaum divisions of Karnataka show a poor status in health infrastructure and health status. Among these, the Gulbarga division (means Hyderabad Karnataka) lies in the lower position. It is well known that Hyderabad Karnataka is underdeveloped in most of the sectors compared to the rest of the regions. Lesser health infrastructure facilities in this region clearly indicate the neglect of the government intervention/ interest to develop basic infrastructure facilities in this region. For better health, health facilities should be improved. For better health facilities, public health expenditure is very important. At present, the Karnataka government is spending very less amount of money on health, which is about 2 per cent of the NSDP. This amount has to be increased.
