<text>Following the publication of new political maps by India on 2nd and 8th November 2019, the issues related to the source of Mahakali River and Indian occupation of the Nepali territory east of the river, have, once again, come to the surface. And, the Nepali civil society has come out strongly against the newly published political maps of India, prepared a new map of Nepal, showing the whole of the territory east of Mahakali River (about 400 sq. km) as Nepalese land on the basis of Treaty of Sugauli signed in 1816 by East India Company of Great Britain and Raja of Nepal. An analysis of the maps, so far available, shows that changes have been made in the names of the river and places, and there is cartographic aggression and manipulation by India in relation to Mahakali River and its boundary with Nepal’s northwest. It has also been found that Nepal has published a map in the past showing its international boundary without any basis of the treaties and other historical documents. Analysis clearly shows that the river originating from Limpiyadhura is the Mahakali (called Kalee/Kali River) as per Article 5 of the Sugauli treaty and it forms the international boundary between the two countries.

<text>Given the global spread of mobile platforms, such as iOS and Android, it is relevant to consider the potential of these devices in teaching and learning. Our exploratory research was designed to evaluate the possibility of using common ebook formats to create gamebooks (gamified books) that are effective in teaching and learning. After analyzing the features available in many free or open tools, we decided to use iBooks Author to build a model of a dynamic book that may function as an educational game for "Environmental Studies", aimed at children in the 4th grade, mostly 9-10 years old, in Portuguese schools. This paper presents the design and features of this interactive book titled "Adventures in the Guadiana River", developed using the Apple iBook format, and especially set for the iPad retina. Because this is a proprietary format we also built a prototype following the EPUB3 standard and developed new ways to interact with content within this universal format. Preliminary tests with our prototypes revealed very good usability and promising pedagogical potential in the proposed models.</text>

<text>The purpose of the study is to explore the perspective of teachers on the use of tablet-based applications with young autistic children through a qualitative case study approach. Eight schoolteachers were interviewed for the study. This paper reports the findings of teachers’ perceptions towards the Autism Aid application with their learners, which has been designed based on their cognitive ability and school curriculum, e.g., self-management skills. The findings showed that generalization based on the design of tablet applications used could be problematic due to the limited number of participants, as well as the potential impact of teaching philosophies and previous experiences. Second, the results have shown that motivation, the human-model, and the use of technology in the classroom affected children’s learning outcomes.</text>

<text>Policy makers in federated countries and the EU seeking to reduce total greenhouse gas emissions face a challenge when emissions are rising in some subnational jurisdictions. The magnitude of that challenge is influenced by the portion of total emissions represented by those jurisdictions, the rate of change in that portion, and the political power of those jurisdictions. This phenomenon is examined by a comparison of the role of rising-emission jurisdictions in the EU and Canada. We define a “rising-emission jurisdiction” as one in which emissions were higher in 2018 than in 1990, regardless of how its emissions may have risen or fallen between those dates. Those findings show that the role of rising-emission jurisdictions must be added to the factors identified in the literature explaining why between 1990 and 2018 EU emissions have declined by 25% while Canadian emissions have increased by 21%. To better understand this phenomenon and to help policy makers cope with it, more research is needed on its influence in other federated countries.

Their success is based on economies of scale and network effects gained thanks to their operations in the Chinese market. This two strategic advantages enable Chinese companies to successfully compete in the global Internet market. Research presented in this paper positively verifies hypothesis that PRC authorities contribute to the success of its companies through discriminatory practices, that do not allow foreign corporations to expand their operations in the Chinese market.</text>

<text>Throughout his ten-year term as United Nations Secretary-General, Kofi Annan pursued reform of the organisation in an effort to strengthen its legitimacy, effectiveness, efficiency, and fairness. This article begins with a definition of UN reform and identifies four different types: Security Council reform, reform of administrative practices, incremental procedural reforms, and creation of new institutions to address contemporary challenges. It next examines Kofi Annan’s initiation of reforms over the course of his term in office, from the time of his selection in 1996 to the end of his term in 2006. In addition to his engagement with all four forms, he also pursued improvement of the organisation in each of the three pillars of the UN Charter: security, development, and human rights, arguing that they were fundamentally interrelated. Kofi Annan believed that reform was a process, and he pursued it not only throughout his term in office but also afterwards through his foundation and other activities. His legacy of reform has been continued by his successors in the Office of Secretary-General.</text>

By analyzing diagrams of these touches and applying data mining for the first time as an authentication technique, this paper presents three new approaches. First, an exact-range evaluation approach has been verified that size is more recognition consistency than pressure. Second, a pattern-range is a new technique reliance on size frequency position. At last, using a size-range has been facilitated the login. The association rules have been modified to work on finger touchscreen data files. To login, 94.1111% of 18 authorized users are succeeded and 98.9% of 20 unauthorized users are failed. Android device and Android studio are used. Size and pressure are normalized to 1; a training set is applied; the password is not considered.</text>

<text>An educational, interactive Amazon Alexa Skill called “Österreich und Europa Spiel / Austria and Europe Game” was developed at Graz University of Technology for a German as well as English speaking audience. This Skills intent is to assist learning geographic facts about Austria as well as Europe by interaction via voice controls with the device. The main research question was if an educational, interactive speech assistant application could be made in a way such that both under-age and full age subjects would be able to use it, enjoy the Game Based Learning experience overall and be assisted learning about the Geography of Austria and Europe. The Amazon Alexa Skill was tested for the first time in a class with 16 students at lower secondary school level. Two further tests were done with a total of five adult participants. After the tests the participants opinion was determined via a questionnaire. The evaluation of the tests suggests that the game indeed gives an additional motivational factor in learning Geography.</text>

<text>In this study natural convection flow in a square cavity with heat generating fluid and a finite size heater on the vertical wall have been investigated numerically. To change the heat transfer in the cavity, a heater is placed at different locations on the right vertical wall of the cavity, while the left wall is considered to be cold. In addition, the top and bottom horizontal walls are considered to be adiabatic and the cavity is assumed to be filled with a Bousinessq fluid having a Prandtl number of 0.72. The governing mass, momentum and energy equations along with boundary conditions are expressed in a normalized primitive variables formulation. Finite Element Method is used in solution of the normalized governing equations. The parameters leading the problem are the Rayleigh number, location of the heater, length of the heater and heat generation. To observe the effects of the mentioned parameters on natural convection in the cavity, we considered various values of heater locations, heater length and heat generation parameter for different values of Ra varying in the range 102 to 105. Results are presented in terms of streamlines, isotherms, average Nusselt number at the hot wall and average fluid temperature in the cavity for the mentioned parameters. The results showed that the flow and thermal fields through streamlines and isotherms as well as the rate of heat transfer from the heated wall in terms of Nusselt number are strongly dependent on the length and locations of the heater as well as heat generating parameter.DOI: 10.3329/jname.v7i2.3292 </text>
