<text>This papers sits at the intersection of citizen access to law, legal informatics and plain language. The paper reports the results of a joint project of the Cornell University Legal Information Institute and the Australian National University which collected thousands of crowdsourced assessments of the readability of law through the Cornell LII site. The aim of the project is to enhance accuracy in the prediction of the readability of legal sentences. The study requested readers on legislative pages of the LII site to rate passages from the United States Code and the Code of Federal Regulations and other texts for readability and other characteristics. The research provides insight into who uses legal rules and how they do so. The study enables conclusions to be drawn as to the current readability of law and spread of readability among legal rules. The research is intended to enable the creation of a dataset of legal rules labelled by human judges as to readability. Such a dataset, in combination with machine learning, will assist in identifying factors in legal language which impede readability and access for citizens. As far as we are aware, this research is the largest ever study of readability and usability of legal language and the first research which has applied crowdsourcing to such an investigation. The research is an example of the possibilities open for enhancing access to law through engagement of end users in the online legal publishing environment for enhancement of legal accessibility and through collaboration between legal publishers and researchers.</text>

<text>In late December 2019 and early January 2020 the first cases of a new coronavirus occurred in Wuhan. It is a virus characterised by similarities to SARS (Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome) and MERS (Middle East Respiratory Syndrome). On January 25, 2020 the initial case of infection by SARS-CoV-2 caused the disease COVID-19 in an Australian patient who later died from it. During my PhD thesis defence in September 2018 I would not have thought that one of the possible security scenarios which I designed for the South Pacific region, related to epidemic threats, would soon come true. Despite some obvious and high indicators resulting, for example, from a geopolitical location in the vicinity of China, the probability of an epidemic outbreak seemed nigh unbelievable. This article focuses on societal security. It is impossible to make a solid analysis of an epidemic impact on societal security in various countries in a single article; therefore, I concentrate specifically on the case of Australia. The goal of this article is to explain how Australians cope with the epidemic and if they are prepared for a drastic change in their lifestyles. Do they put trust in governmental institutions? What issues appear to be main societal threats in Australian society during the pandemic? I conclude with thoughts about new societal directions that are going to be implemented should the scale of the pandemic persist. Due to limited length, my overview is not exhaustive; instead, it focuses on core findings about the condition of Australian society during the pandemic.</text>

<text>As big technological companies expand across the Seattle Metropolitan area, real estate construction is exploding in downtown Seattle where homelessness due to development-induced displacement is concerning. To this end, the internal displacement of vulnerable populations, including Indigenous peoples, homeless persons, and refugees is mainly due to large scale development of big tech companies. The indifference of using the term ―internal displacement‖ to describe the situation of development-induced displacement makes it difficult to identify, name and raise the agenda of development-induced displaced homeless people in the area. Thus, the goal of this paper is to present a general overview and assessment of the state of development-induced displacement of homeless peoples in Seattle due to big companies‘ expansion, so as to initiate and stimulate critical dialogue on furthering research in the area.</text>

<text>The Mediterranean Sea has an attraction for countries that want to control this area. Among them are the abundant energy resources (such as oil and natural gas), have international trade routes that connect Europe, Africa, and Asia, and offer beaches or ports that can be built and operate year-round. Therefore, a superpower country like Russia is interested in becoming one of the actors that dominate this region. Russian activity in this region has occurred since the era of the Russian empire (Tsardom). However, over time, Russia has ambitions to regain control of the area they previously controlled. The Mediterranean region, especially the Eastern Mediterranean, is a strategic area for Russia in carrying out its foreign policy interests where they want to secure natural resource reserves and international trade routes and look for ports that can operate for a full year. This research aims to analyze how Russia's foreign policy interests result in its presence in the Eastern Mediterranean Sea. Using qualitative research methods, this research will analyze Russia's presence in the East Mediterranean Sea. This research finds that Russia can demonstrate its presence in the Eastern Mediterranean region by using several political manoeuvres such as the annexation of Crimea, establishing relations with Turkey and Syria, and the use of energy politics in their foreign policy.</text>

The significance value obtained from all outputs is 0.000 which is smaller than 0.05, so H0 is rejected. So, it can be concluded that there is an effect of using digital book learning media on students' multicultural education</text>

<text>The manuscript points on the new challenges in higher education in terms of wartime in Ukraine after the world pandemic. The real country experience in English on-line teaching and learning is defined as it was important during the lockdown and it is suitable now in wartime in Ukraine. The aim of the research is to show helpful ideas, experience, to stress the advantages for English on-line teaching and learning. Some general theoretical methods as analysis and synthesis, and the empirical one as questionnaires discovered the advantages of the issue under study. The research has pointed out to the results: on-line teaching and learning prove the development of all the English language skills; off-line teaching and learning are basically useful for the students with high motivation. The Moodle platform (version 3.7), the University platform “Educational Electronic Information Complex” (EEIC), Zoom, Meet, Skype, Microsoft Teams are used for on-line teaching and learning. The most common advantages are the prospect to watch learning material on a laptop or mobile phone screen, to start any type the recordings as audio as video in the best quality. The conclusion is it is necessary to find a balance between on-line and off-line learning, communication, and interaction.</text>

<text>Knowledge Management (KM) system is a core feature in facilitating intellectual growth in organization. However, there are numerous difficulties in maintaining a reliable KM system. One of the challenges is to manage knowledge materials in video format. A video file contains complex data that lead to the difficulties in managing them. Without an intelligent system, managing videos for KM requires a laborious effort. In this paper, an intelligent framework for KM system, embedded with deep learning model, is proposed. The use of the deep learning model alleviates the heavy burden of video materials management in KM system. To enhance the agility of the system, mobile-based deep learning model is utilized in the framework.</text>

Modern analytical chemistry studies and uses instruments to analize chemical compounds up to structural analysis. Modern instruments, such as mass spectrometer, generate information of compounds and stored in big data bank. This must be able to be accessed and used in chemistry education. This report would be around the benefits of using Big Data during learning process in this digital era, through IDEAL Problem Solving learning. Some preliminary progress would be presented. The growing number of data and resources would change also teaching and learning methodology in higher education. Some highlights about disruptive learning innovation would be described</text>

<text>Technological developments have triggered the emergence of various kinds of learning media innovations. Learning media is a very important part of the learning process. In this study, researchers designed a learning media in the form of a virtual laboratory on the practicum material of the basics of analytical chemistry which is integrated with multi-representation triplets to create and describe the results of learning media. The method used in this development was Research and Development (R&D) method using the 4-D (four-D) development model. Data collection used qualitative and quantitative data. The qualitative data were in the form of comments and suggestions from the validator, while the quantitative data were the validation questionnaire and legibility test. The results showed that the validation of the material obtained a percentage of 84% (very valid), media validation of 78% (valid), and the results of trials on correspondents obtained a percentage in the range 81-92% (very valid). It can be concluded that the virtual laboratory learning media on the analytical chemistry laboratory material with the integration of the developed multi-representation triplet explanations is feasible to use, especially in the practicum of the basics of analytical chemistry on the topic of group I cation analysis and argentometry. This shows that the virtual laboratory developed has the potential to support online practicum learning, and the macroscopic, submicroscopic, and symbolic depiction in the virtual laboratory can help the process of receiving information by students</text>
