<text>Sungai Pusu is the river that passes through the IIUM Gombak campus. The river has been having a cloudy appearance for years hence it is needed to quantify the vital signs such as pH, temperature, and turbidity because these are the vital signs indicating the health of a river. Currently, there a lot of monitoring systems however the available monitoring systems do not support long-range communication and consume a lot of power. The data need to be transmitted at a long-range as it is being monitored remotely at a long distance. Therefore, a river pollution monitoring system must be developed to track the emergency vital signs (EVSs) of the river water The EVs include pH, temperature as well as turbidity. This project capitalizes on the long-range communication and low power consumption LoRaWAN system. The prototype monitoring station design can read the important EVSs of the river such as temperature, pH level, and turbidity. The sensors are connected to a microcontroller board. The readings of the EVSs are transmitted by the LoRa gateway which is forwarding the data to The Things Network Server. A graphical representation of the data is displayed on Ubidots. The results attained quantify the contribution of the IIUM populace to Sungai Pusu Pollution and raise awareness. It is also important to discuss the possibilities to the pollution of the river to see how one’s action could contribute to it. A statistical data of the results is as important so that an overall result can be deduced. Based on the results, the pH is decreased 1.32 pH, the temperature is increased by 2.29°C, and turbidity is decreased by 0.44 NTU throughout the monitoring period. In the future, six more monitoring stations will be added to accommodate KL River of Life (RoL) EVSs too.</text>

<text>The past few years have witnessed a huge increase in the application of facial recognition, detection, and analysis technology. However, face recognition systems remain the most popular among the general public. The facial recognition system can detect the presence of a face when exposed to one. The accuracy and fairness that can be derived from such systems necessitate their use, because humans, particularly security personnel can be tired and target the wrong person as a suspect. However, artificial intelligence systems that are properly trained are capable of efficiently identifying and classifying faces without errors. In this work, the use of Matlab language was employed in building a software system that is capable of recognizing and differentiating different face patterns. The proposed system is equipped with a camera that serves as the practical aspect of the software that captures different shots that are sent to the theoretical part of a special program that is designed to recognize faces by comparing them with a database stored within the program. The practical part of the work involved the use of Quantum Neural Network. In this work, the training dataset is made up of features vectors that were obtained from a well-known set of face images of different people. Here, Principle Component Analysis (PCA) was used for the extraction of feature vectors from images and then prepared for the next training step. The experimental results revealed that efficient face recognition can be achieved through the use of well-trained Quantum Network.</text>

<text>One of the most important measures that developed countries need along with economic success is the provision of contemporary health services for the elderly. Inadequate care for the elderly can put them in danger of falls with serious injury or even death. When an older person falls due to illness, immediate lack of care may lead to death. In this paper, a wearable smart phone sensor fall event detection system is introduced. The proposed system utilizes real-time raw sensory accelerometer, gyroscope and gravity data collected from the AndroSensor App and is then processed and applied to a machine learning classifier. The smart phone is positioned at the waistline to yield the most accurate fall detection results. The system is trained and can detect common activities, like sleeping, walking, sitting, jogging, and events, such as falling in any direction. An full accuracy is almost accomplished using Support Vector Machine classifier in comparison with other classifiers as addressed by other previous research works. Nevertheless, the system requires more validation with elderly people under the supervision of caregivers in a controlled environment.</text>

<text>Future satellite companies will use higher Ka and V bands. Rain fade is the most important issue in establishing reliable communication between Earth and satellites outside the 10 GHz band. The problem is exacerbated in the tropics by significant rainfall throughout the year. One way to deal with rainfall attenuation is to use a time-diversity strategy. Real-time rainfall attenuation data is needed to analyze time variability. However, data from higher frequency bands such as Ka and V bands cannot be used. As a result, the Synthetic Storm Technique (SST) was proposed to convert the measured real time rainfall data into rainfall attenuation data and predict the time diversity gain. The measured rainfall data was converted to rainfall attenuation data using the traditional SST method. Time diversity gains were predicted using Converted rainfall attenuation and the Matriciani model, and the measurements were significantly overestimated. A new concept of realtime rainfall with and without time delay is proposed and used to predict time diversity gain using ITU-R P. 618-13 and the measured rainfall distribution with delay. Therefore, the proposed method recommends using the measured long-term precipitation data to predict the gain from time diversity at the desired frequency.</text>

These antennas can work on various frequencies ranging from low to high for a huge variety of applications including medical, military and quite a few more. This paper presents the textile antennas those are designed for Wi-MAX application with the frequency range of 3.09–3.94 GHz, fifth generation (5G) lower band with the resonant frequency of 4.23–5.65 GHz and UWB 4.62–10.74 GHz applications. This work also introducing a single C-shape etching slot (CSES) in a rectangular patch antenna. The textile substrate (jeans) has been applied to reduce the surface wave losses and design a wearable textile antenna using microstrip line feed technology. Bending effect up to 750 and radiation effect on human tissue as specific absorption rate (SAR) are analyzed using Computer Simulation Technology (CST) tools. Textile antennas for multiple band applications can be created using CSES which can be attributed to cotton, denim cotton and polyester.</text>

<text>For fifth generation (5G) lower band wireless application at a frequency of (4.5–5.5) GHz, recently ASEAN region countries have suggested 5G forums and band rejection antennas for 5G (4.5–5.5) GHz lower band. A UWB antenna has been constructed and suggested by use of the Roger RT5880 with defected ground on a rectangular radiating patch and a ring shape type of resonator (RSR) on ground plane to achieve the desired performance. It was decided to construct a band rejection within UWB antenna for 5G which included adding a rectangular slot on the radiating patch as well as placing RSR to the ground plane of the proposed antenna. The results support the theory that the antenna is capable of transmitting and receiving in the UWB except band notched bandwidth. Additionally, the results show that the antenna possesses good performance across the whole UWB spectrum with a gain of 4.6 dBi. This, in addition to its ability to support the lower 5G band notched, is why the suggested antenna is a good contender for future 5G wireless implementations within UWB bandwidth.</text>

<text>The efficiency of wireless pad designs with ferrite cores has been established in several investigations. However, they seldom offered a viable solution to the problem of modifying the ferrite form's geometric shape. The use of a ferrite core in the primary and secondary coils has been suggested by several researchers. The ferrite core design, on the other hand, is still in the works. Using the wrong ferrite core design might result in unnecessary extra weight and higher production costs. The circular coil design in the primary and secondary for wireless power transfer (WPT) in electric vehicles is studied in this research. The suggested coil design is used to develop mathematical design utilizing numerical solutions. Later, using Multisims software, this coil design is produced in simulation. The suggested coil design's power efficiency is examined and contrasted between computed and simulated results. Finally, based on the results of the power efficiency, a definitive discussion is presented.</text>

<text>LoRaWAN wireless communication channels are often impacted by noise and interference over long-range causing loss of a received signal. One of the main drawbacks of using existing propagation models is less accurate as these models in designing the communication link are tailored to simplify the estimation. In this paper, an artificial intelligent real time path loss model is proposed. It is capable of processing complex variables over a short period of time. Providing it with enough data, the model is able to learn channel behavior and predict the path loss accurately. Results of the model are benchmarked against classical statistical curve fitting models where RMSE values are also compared and indicating that the artificial intelligent model has better accurate prediction.</text>

This research seeks to give an extended model investigating the intention to use MOOCs based on students at public universities in north-western Nigeria. The planned extended model, which extends the TAM, was tested via PLS structural equation modelling using data collected from 451 students at public universities in northwestern Nigeria. The research findings indicated that the proposed extended model delivers around is 72.0% descriptive effect and the creative technology acceptance TAM model. establishes strong signal for the effects of PU, PR, PEOU, SN, and TA on intentions to practice MOOCs technology among students at Nigerian public universities context. The pragmatic outcomes present practical implications and theoretical can be used for MOOCs developers with justifying the reasons as to why the usage of MOOCs is not high within public universities in North-ern-western Nigeria. The findings indicate PU, PEOU, PR SN, and TA, considerably impact students’ intention to use MOOCs. The research has theoretically provided insight into extended TAM in Nigerian learning environments to discover the issues influencing students' intents. The findings could practically enlighten administrators, instructors, developers, and policymakers in making informed decisions. </text>

<text>Communication between machines has become commonplace in recent years, and the Internet of Things (IoT) is gaining notoriety. Congestion control is a prevalent issue in the transportation system, and GPS devices, which drivers and traffic authorities alike utilise, are well-suited to the job. Traffic density is expanding at an alarming rate, making it impossible for drivers to see and handle all of the possible scenarios in a traffic area they are ready to enter. It's also becoming increasingly difficult to maintain security and integrity due to a growing number of assaults by hackers that send harmful code or bogus packets. There are a few new technologies that have yet to be put into practise under the Internet of Things umbrella, including ubiquitous computing (IoT).</text>
