<text>The present study investigates the difference effect of problem solving model with or without game-based learning (GBL) on lower and higher achievers’. Ninety-one students of grade eight (M = 13.9; SD = 0,5 year) from Indonesia were randomly allocated to participated in the study. Data were analyzed by using qualitative and quantitative methods. Two test were used in this study, one for assessing prior knowladge, and the other for the post-testing. Posttes was composed of two measuring both numeric (procedural and arithmatical accuracy) and reasoning (applied problems in geometry). Results indicated that students who were exposed to the game-based learning within problem solving (PS+GBL) significantly outperformed their counterparts who were exposed on the basis of textbook within problem solving (PS+TB). The positive effects of PS+GBL were observed on both tests of numeracy and applied problems in geometry. In addition, the findings show the positive effects of PS+GBL method on lower and higher achievers.</text>

<text>Effective study plan is a predictor of good academic performance. However, there are few evidences available on the role of gender and age in the study plan for students. This paper investigated the role of gender and age in the adoption of study plan that can guarantee success. A questionnaire was designed and administered to undergraduate students of a world class privately funded university located in Ogun State, Nigeria. Simple random sampling was used and 294 students responded. Chi-square test of independence revealed that gender and age are not associated with frequency of study, study environment, study content preferences and study motivation. There is no Gender difference in the preference of study type, factors that drive, motivation for study and satisfaction with the study plan whereas, age is significantly associated. The logistic regression model was significant and correctly classified 66.3% of satisfaction with the study plan. Gender was not significant and age of students can predict their satisfaction with their study plan. Older students have more odds to be satisfied with their study plan. As students progressed from year one to the final year, they tend to adopt a study plan that can help them obtain high grades and graduate with good result. Artificial Neural Network correctly classified 71.4% of satisfaction using only age as the only factor because, only age contributed significantly to the logistic regression model. Timely academic advising or mentorship is advocated especially for freshers.</text>

<text>In the employment market, hiring processes in the organisations are often considered to perpetuate gender equality. The discrimination prevails through implicit and in-group biases. During hiring decisions, marked gender differences in the hiring standards continue to exist for women and men. Counter balancing attempts, such as demonstrating agentic behaviour seem to have been unfavourable in receiving appreciations. Factors like „accumulation of advantage‟, „physical attractiveness‟ and so forth adds to the „threat‟ for the woman candidate. The article proposes that sustained and concrete processes need to be ensured that would defuse gender stereotyping, the latter being an outcome of the human tendency to carve the world into in-group and out-group. Two methods to neutralise gender biases while hiring are recommended in the concluding section.</text>

<text>Digital technologies have become powerful tools in today society in many aspects. However, without proper knowledge and guidance, youth is   being challenged with potential hazards of cybercrimes. Hence, the purpose of this study was to compare who is at a greater risk of cybercrimes, and to assess whether there is a significant difference in the digital competency between girls and boys at rural areas. Digital competence was measured as technology, cognitive, ethical knowledge and communication, and cybersecurity was measured as intellectual property, privacy, accuracy and accessibility. Questionnaires were distributed to selected secondary schools. Based on the t-test analyses of 211 responses, the findings indicate there is a significant difference in the attitude toward ICT usage between male and female students, as well as significant differences in the behavior of troubleshooting, staying safe online and being credible and in the ethical knowledge. Comparing the cybersecurity traits, gender differentiates the privacy concerns, accuracy and accessibility behavior. As the results are alarming, specific concerns and focus must be placed on youth digital technology usage and education for ensuring they are not neglected, and exposed as cyber victims, but also to raise a responsible e-society with excellent digital citizenship attributes.</text>

<text>Abstract--The user’s emotional involvement plays an important role in adopting new technologies. The level of engagement with and adoption of new digital applications depends on various personal, contextual, and emotional factors. In our study, we assessed the personal factors, such as gender differences, of perceiving and adopting technologies such as virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR), and conventional video. Furthermore, we assessed what kind of emotions are involved in and invoked by the context of new technologies. This is a quantitative study in which students were asked to perform experiments on VR, AR, and conventional videos. After the experiments, participants were asked to fill out a predefined survey about their emotional reactions to the experiments. The results show, unlike the prior research, that female participants were more enthusiastic about the usage of new technologies than males. The user experience of VR, AR and conventional videos triggered more positive emotions among females than males. For practitioners, the results  suggest that the audio-visual technologies could engage more females than males. For academics, this study provides further research on how to trigger users to adopt new audio-visual technologies.</text>

<text>In the realm of robotics and interactive systems, gender recognition is a crucial problem. Considering the several uses it has in security, web search, human-computer interactions, etc., gender recognition from facial photos has garnered a lot of attention. The need to use and enhance gender recognition techniques is felt more strongly today due to a significant development in the design of facial recognition systems. Relatively speaking to other approaches, the progress gained in this area thus far is not exceptional. Thus, a novel method has been adopted in this study to improve accuracy in comparison to earlier research. To create the best rate of accuracy and efficiency in the suggested method of this research, we choose a minimal set of characteristics. Testing on the FERET and UTK-Face datasets reveals that our suggested algorithm has a lower degree of inaccuracy. In this article, the input image of the person's face is pre-processed to extract the right features from the face once the person's face has been recognized. Gender separation is achieved using Multi-class Support Vector Machine (SVM) Classifiers after features from normalized images have been extracted using Histogram Oriented Gradient (HOG), Gabor Filters, and Speeded Up Robust Features (SURF), as well as their combination to select the most appropriate feature from them as input for gender classification. As a feature reduction feature, the Principal Component Analysis (PCA) algorithm is also employed. Using the proposed approach, 98.75% gender recognition precision has been accomplished on the FERET database and a runtime performance of 0.4 Sec. on the UTK-Face database, 97.43% gender recognition accuracy has been accomplished and a runtime performance of 0.5 Sec.</text>

<text>The context of this work is that of designing a Instructional Management Systems - Learning Design (IMS-LD) model for collaboration space of a Learning Management System (LMS). Our work is specifically in the field or seeking to promote, by means of information technology from a distance. Our approach is to first think about the conditions for creating a real collaboration space between learners, and designing the IT environment that supports this space. In this paper, we try to adapt the IMS-LD model with a collaboration model for Learning Management System based on the social constructivism. This adaptation will go through three stages. Firstly, the development of an LMS model. Secondly, the study of correspondence between the developed model and IMS-LD model. Finally their transformation to IMS-LD model.</text>

The lifestyle of the inhabitants of the city started to change gradually. The municipal administration was introduced with the intention to provide basic civic amenities, which were unknown to the people at that time. The gradual implementation of urban administration scheme at that time resulted in improving the present status of the democratic institutions at city level in Mysore state. It was because of establishment of Municipality at Bangalore in 1862, today we can witness an all-round progress and development in the sphere of drinking water facility, drainage system, supply of electricity, construction and maintenance of roads, beautiful gardens, city extensions etc. in Bangalore city.
In this article an attempt has been made to trace out the factors responsible for the implementation of municipal administration in the State and growth of Bangalore city Municipality from 1862-1900.</text>

<text>This article analyses the ethical and legal aspects of data-sharing and genomic research. It begins in Part II with an overview of the nature of genomic information, and whether it is exceptional when compared to other forms of health information. Part III considers the role of data-sharing in genomic research, with the importance of public trust in supporting genomic research considered in Part IV. The Australian regulatory framework for data-sharing in genomic research is considered in Parts V and VI, with reform options discussed in Part VII. The article concludes that advances in genomic research and the complexity of the current regulatory framework make it timely to review Australian laws to ensure that they maintain their relevance for this rapidly developing field of research.</text>
