It has a polysemic character and is differently interpreted by various scientific perspectives. The purpose of this article is to provide a brief analysis of selected approaches of the theory of international relations to defining interests and correlating the interpretations of national interests of the Russian Federation performed on their bases. The choice of case study concerning the foreign policy of the Russian Federation is not accidental because in countries aspiring to gain world power the concept of national interest is raised while explaining the motives of decisions taken by their leaders exceptionally often. In this article, Russia’s interests will be discussed in reference to the annexation of the Crimea and Russia’s actions towards Ukraine. Those events vividly show the specificity of defining the national interests, based on one hand on the pursue to being a powerhouse and understanding the interests in the category of power and, on the other hand, resulting from the political identity of Russian elites. A hybrid of Information Gain (IG) and Principal Component Analysis (PCA) (dimensionality reduction) was implemented for the selection of important features and a heterogeneous ensemble consisting of Naïve Bayes (NB), K Nearest Neighbor (KNN), Logistic Regression (LR) and Repeated Incremental Pruning to Produce Error Reduction (RIPPER) classifiers based on Average of Probabilities (AOP) was used for spam detection. The proposed framework was applied on MPI_SWS and SAC’13 Tip spam datasets and the developed models were evaluated based on accuracy, precision, recall, f-measure, and area under the curve (AUC). From the experimental results, the proposed framework (that is, Ensemble + IG + PCA) outperformed other experimented methods on studied spam datasets. Specifically, the proposed method had an average accuracy value of 87.5%, an average precision score of 0.877, an average recall value of 0.845, an average F-measure value of 0.872 and an average AUC value of 0.943. Also, the proposed method had better performance than some existing methods. Consequently, this study has shown that addressing high dimensionality in spam datasets, in this case, a hybrid of IG and PCA with a heterogeneous ensemble method can produce a more effective method for detecting spam contents. This matter led to the development of many techniques for data security, such as Steganography, Cryptography, and Watermarking to disguise data. This paper proposes an image steganography method using the Least Significant Bits (LSB) technique and XOR operator and a secret key, through which the secret key is transformed into a one-dimensional bit stream array, then these bits are XORed with the bits of the secret image. Multiple experiments have been performed to embed color and grayscale images inside cover media. In this work, the LSB technique is ideal in two ways: firstly, only the least significant one-bit (1bit) of each byte will store the embedded data, this method is named (1-LSB). Secondly, the four least significant bits of the right half-byte (4 bits) of each byte will store the embedded data, this method is named (4-LSB). Subjective and objective analyzes were performed for each LSB process. The determinants of the successful smart education system, particularly learning styles of students and the learning environment characteristics also investigated. The advancement of information and communication technologies has paved the shifts in learning and teaching with countries such as Kuwait have progressively integrated ICTs and smart technologies into their education systems. This research conducted a systematic literature review on smart education systems in Kuwait and the determinants of its successful implementation.  A systematic keyword strategy was utilized for secondary data search from databases and archives, including university e-library and scholarly scientific research and various article database. A systematic content analysis was conducted by analysing the gathered secondary data.  Findings from this study suggested that various tools and technologies used in implementing smart education in Kuwait however, learning styles and learning environmental characteristics had significantly influenced the success of the adoption of smart education in Kuwait’s higher education. The findings of this study demonstrated practical implications in higher education, especially in terms of designing smart education systems in emphasizing the learning styles of students as well as the necessary learning environment factors for successful smart education.
