<text>Community health workers (CHWs) are the basis of public health services that aim to connect the gap between public health and the human service system. This gap can be completely bridged by navigating the health and human service systems and educating communities on disease prevention. Unfortunately, the way of sharing, accessing information, and delivering health services is still non-digitalized in Rwanda. Community Health workers use a manual system in their daily activities, which is prone to error and falsification. Moreover, these people selected to perform these activities often do not have adequate knowledge about diseases and health systems since they are not professional health workers. To address the above problem, we designed a prototype mobile application to enable these workers to automatically submit reports, transfer knowledge, share information, and receive training from professionals. The design process followed a User-Centered Design approach to meet the users’ requirements. The evaluation of the design showed that 91.7% of the CHWs agreed with the designed application prototype. This finding shows that CHWs has an interest in using the mobile application in their work. Using the mobile application will help CHWs to improve data collection, the reporting process, and ease of receiving training.</text>

<text>Cognitive workload has been defined as the cognitive processing amount needed by a user in using an application. Cognitive load theory has been gaining increasing levels of importance within usability evaluations for mobile applications and the user interface. The PACMAD model has proven that cognitive workload (CL) can be seen as being a primary usability evaluation attribute in relation to mobile applications. Once the tasks that have been assigned to users within the environment of the mobile application have been performed by the evaluator, he/she subjectively measures the CL. Typically, subjective measurements are taken at a point following completion of a task and so they are static. Since these methods are static in nature, they are inappropriate for assessment of dynamic changes to the cognitive loads through user interaction. Robust measurement of the cognitive load of a user within real-time is not a simple, trivial undertaking. Lots of research studies have tried to assess the CL of users through use of various subjective measurements, though it is often the case that those approaches are unsuitable for use with real-life applications because of the high degree of intrusiveness. Automated measurement is seen as being a field that is relatively unexplored, particularly if used in relation to CL for mobile applications. The COG tool (CL automated tool) is proposed in this paper since it supports the interaction logging of the user for derivation of CL metrics that are based upon both secondary and primary tasks. Several strengths are provided by the automated measurement of CL, and it fills the gaps of a static nature of its non-objective, automated (subjective) counterpart. Within this research, in order for the study aim to be satisfied, objective CL metrics have been used by the researcher, i.e., task time, task success rate, number of touches, number of errors, duration on help, help visit count, total effort percentage and reaction on help. A total of 68 participants were recruited for the experiment, with them using an AAU mobile application through performance of a task that was predefined without there being any interference of a moderator or researcher. The findings showed that the proposed tool could fulfill the expected cognitive load monitoring functions amongst user interaction, collection of cognitive metrics and the logging of CL metrics that could be analyzed further.</text>

In this research, Smartphone Augmented Reality (AR) technology was used to develop a multi-viewpoint AR-based mobile learning (M-VARML) system for moon observation that can be used in the real world environment. An experiment was conducted to evaluate the usefulness of our system. Participants were given five moon observation tasks, which they had to perform manually and using the M-VARML system. After each task, they were given follow-up questionnaires on the usefulness of the functions in the system. Finally, they were asked about the operational usability and the effect our system had in motivating them to pursue lunar observation. The results show that the M-VARML system is effective in improving the observation and learning of students and in enhancing their motivation to pursue lunar learning.</text>

<text>Understanding solar movement (e.g., solar diurnal motion) is difficult for those are beginning to learn about astronomy. Previous research has revealed that observation-based learning can help make astronomical phenomena clearer to understand for such learners. In this research, Smartphone Augmented Reality (AR) technology and 3D content were used to develop a multi-viewpoint Smartphone AR-based learning system (M-VSARLS) for solar movement observations that can be used in the real-world environment. The goal of this research is to assess the usefulness of the system, usability of the AR function and 3D content, and the overall effect of the system on the learner’s motivation through task-based experiments with follow-up questionnaires. The results show that the M-VSARL system is effective in improving the observational skills and learning ability of learners, and in enhancing their motivation to learn about solar movement.</text>

<text>This paper demonstrates how the mediation of situated simulations (sitsims) might disseminate an enhanced sense of reality for the user â?? regardless of the actual amount of authenticity in the reconstruction. Therefore, it will be argued, for sitsims to serve their potential as tools for learning, documentation, source criticism and visualisation of uncertainty is key. In order to increase the reliability of sitsims, this paper suggest an extended use of the accompanying website; a continuation of encouraging user-generated links; and more visualisations of alternative interpretations. Additionally, it provides suggestion for further research on ways to improve reliability by 1) allowing users to alter structures without being constrained by fixed values, and 2) employing colour-coding based on level of documentation. </text>

eSience Tempus project "Maghreb Network of remote labs" offers an innovative pedagogical approach which integrates eLearning and is complementary to classroom learning. The main objective of this project is to create an efficient remote labs network in the Maghreb region for the modernization of higher education in technological sciences.
The current paper summarizes the work carried out on a heat exchanger bench to be fully accessed and controlled remotely. Through this new device a student of Mechanical Engineering is introduced to many fundamental aspects of heat transfer.</text>

<text>By some measures, the European Union’s Eastern enlargement, and the attendant securitization of East Central Europe through membership in the North Atlantic Treaty Organization, have brought significant economic and welfare benefits to the former Soviet satellites or republics that have joined these organizations. All of their economies are considerably larger than in 1989. Foreign investment has helped fuel significant growth in the region, and financial linkages between East and West had a stabilizing influence during and after the US financial crisis of 2008-09. But economic success in absolute terms has not prevented a sense of disappointment from settling over the region, nor has it forestalled an illiberal backlash in a number of countries, which has had economic, political, and in some cases ethno-populist dimensions. This article examines some of the main economic trajectories around growth, consumption, investment, and finance. It explains why, despite numerous positive measures, both economic and political liberalism are under intensifying scrutiny. Growing inequality within countries, as well as continuing inequality – including power disparities between East and West Europe – have fueled discontent with the terms on which many East Central European states have integrated into the EU. </text>
