<text>This paper presents and discusses a new mobile application for teaching and learning programming basics. The purpose is to help students acquire competencies while having fun and using their own devices. The mobile application was designed according to cross-platform approach to reach the broadest possible audience of learners, saving time and effort of development and maintenance. The code is fully shared between mobile platforms (iOS, Android and Windows Phone) allowing learners to install the application on any device. The core application is based on a multi-agent system to make the application interactive, flexible and dynamic and provide students with tailored instructions. A prototype is presented showing the main features of the application.</text>

<text>The purpose of this article is to outline some of the key changes andadvancements in social theory and research methodology that weretriggered during the period of scientific self-reflection after the events ofthe so-called Arab Spring. The ongoing turn towards decidedlymicropolitical and anthropological approaches has had a significant impactespecially on macropolitical and universalist disciplines which, much liketheir regional counterparts, were largely caught o! guard by the MiddleEastern developments from the turn of the last decade. These changesrepresent a very welcome corrective detour to the established trajectoriesof scientific development, especially so with regard to the existing andprolonged issues surrounding interdisciplinary research that havehistorically plagued the research in Middle Eastern politics and for whichnew possibilities of resolutions are hereby opened.</text>

<text>This research aims to solve the problem of selecting the best practical work students at the Politeknik Bisnis Indonesia. The current selection of the best practical work students at PBI does not yet use a decision support system approach. This problem is solved by building a Decision Support System using Multi-Objective Optimization based on Ratio Analysis (MOORA) method. The criteria used in this DSS consist of discipline, teamwork, skills, quality of work, and attendance. As for the results of data processing from this study, the three best alternative data were obtained, namely alternative Vivi (A6) as the 1st best Practical Work Students with a score of Yi = 36.5954, Hafiz (A1) as the 2nd best Practical Work Students with a score of Yi = 34.5339, Cahaya (A3) as the 3rd best PKL student with a score of Yi = 33.4767. Through this decision support system that has been built, the selection of the best practical work students can be made quickly and effectively.</text>

<text>This study aims to design a tool that can control electric lights remotely. The wastage of using lights often occurs due to the difficulty of the occupants of the house in controlling the lighting, especially when they have to leave the house due to various activities. Lighting needs to be controlled to turn on or not when you want to travel for a long time. In addition, lighting needs to be controlled to significantly reduce the service life of the lamp because it is on continuously. This remote light control system can make it easier for users to cut electricity usage. An electric light controller designed using SMS (Short Message Service) based on the Arduino Uno Microcontroller. This system only applies if the condition of the AC voltage originating from the local PLN is ON. System control is managed using the Atmega328 Arduino Uno Microcontroller. The language used for programming is C/Arduino language, and this tool works on GSM communication systems, especially SMS services. The result of designing this tool is that the user can control (ON/OFF) the lights without being limited by time and place as long as the cellular network is reachable.</text>

<text>Learner analytic driven research concerned with mobile app learner survivability. An app was developed to indicate productiveness of quiz app usage for global mobile assisted language learning (MALL). The research focused on inhibiting and optimizing effects of level length on total questions answered. How many questions per level leads to the highest total unique questions being answered? The research focused on nine-day cohort timeframes and included three phases: a small-scale pilot study to establish parameters, an exploratory stage undertaken within the parameters and finally the use of a quadratic regression predictive model. The null hypothesis (H0) was rejected. A one-way analysis of variance found a statistically significant difference in the mean productivity of the lengths. Results of a Tukey post hoc test (p < .05) suggests question sets with less than eight questions, or more than 15 questions, appear to inhibit MALL autonomous learning. Optimal level question sets appear to be between lengths 8-14. The results visually encapsulated by a quadratic regression model broadly support H1 and H2. Set 12 is the statistically most significant optimal load. Gains of up to 107% are reported for switching from suboptimal to optimal approaches.</text>

<text>This study aims to identify the need for developing a financial literacy pocketbook for Malay ethnic homemakers in running a home industry business, compiling a financial literacy pocket bookmaking tool, and measuring or knowing the validation of the financial literacy pocketbook. This study uses a design-based research (DBR) approach. The subjects in this study were 25 Malay homemakers running a home industry business in Jambi City. For the implementation of field trials (in large groups) and evaluation of field trials, the researchers used action research to test the draft financial literacy pocketbook product. Researchers collected data using the method of observation, in-depth interviews, questionnaires, FGD (focus group discussion), and documentation. The data analysis used by researchers in processing research and development data used qualitative and quantitative analysis. The results of the field test showed that before the pre-test comprehension treatment was conducted, it was 57.71, while after the treatment of understanding financial literacy using a literacy pocketbook, it was known that the average result of understanding Jambi Malay homemakers about financial literacy with a post-test was 67.02 which means an increase of 9.31 points. The effect size calculation results show a value of 0.861, which is included in the high category. Overall, this study has produced a pocketbook of home industry financial literacy measuring 7 x 10 cm with 25 pages of teaching materials that professionals have validated.</text>

<text>Traditional food is a representation of the culture and identity of certain regions and is a symbol of cultural heritage. Traditional Indonesian food must be preserved and introduced to the community, especially the easy generation as the next generation of the nation as a form of love for the culture that has been passed down from generation to generation. It aims to avoid the influence of food or foreign cuisine that enters Indonesia, which from time to time makes the preservation of traditional Indonesian food increasingly eroded. One form of an effective cultural approach is by introducing to the easy generation and also to the wider community. Therefore the use of technology is very important to maintain the preservation of traditional Indonesian food and convey it to the community, especially the easy generation. This study aims to develop a mobile application for augmented reality as a promotional medium to introduce traditional Indonesian food. Mobile augmented reality in applications built with the Unity3D program is done in different ways in presenting information to other media. This method allows users to view the media as a presentation of their information in the form of 2D and or 3D image modelling by using tracking images through a smartphone device's camera. The mobile augmented reality application that will be developed can provide an interesting and interactive information experience so that it can be fun for every user so that knowledge of traditional Indonesian food can be distributed and channelled so that the preservation of traditional Indonesian food is maintained.</text>

<text>The issue of lacking reference books in braille in most public building is crucial, especially public places like libraries, museum and others. The visual impairment or blind people is not getting the information like we normal vision do. Therefore, a multi languages reading device for visually impaired is built and designed to overcome the limitation of reference books in public places. Some research regarding current product available is done to develop a better reading device. This reading device is an improvement from previous project which only focuses on single language which is not suitable for public places. This reading device will take a picture of the book using 5MP Pi camera, Google Vision API will extract the text, and Google Translation API will detect the language and translated to desired language based on push buttons input by user. Google Text-to-Speech will convert the text to speech and the device will read out aloud in through audio output like speaker or headphones. A few testings have been made to test the functionality and accuracy of the reading device. The testings are functionality, performance test and usability test. The reading device passed most of the testing and get a score of 91.7/100 which is an excellent (A) rating.</text>

<text>Flipped Classroom’ has become more popular in higher education for encouraging self-learning enthusiasm. This research aims to propose a learning process model of flipped classroom to develop research skill by applying critical inquiry theory in the instructional design to develop thinking, finding answer and research skills which are the key competency for conducting a research. The research methodology was divided into two phases: the first phase included literature review to develop the learning process model, the second phase included learning model suitability evaluation by expert. The results showed that experts have strongly agreed with the learning model. We anticipate that our flipped classroom model which has divided into 3 phase included pre-class, in-class and after-class phases with the addition of thinking skill development activity by using critical inquiry technics could be used for reference for teachers on planning and implementing instructional activities to enhance the research skill of undergraduate students</text>
