<text>Crowdsourcing in smart cities has rapidly grown with the buildup of the internet of things which has enabled citizens who are similarity thinking in the society to become increasingly connected with one another delivering information to the government in order to plan the city. This article proposes a gamified crowdsourcing framework for smart governments to solve urban problems. It could help government officers to organize the deliveries regarding the city’s characteristics. We applied game elements from the Gamification Concept in a mobile application in order to engage the citizens in our framework. We evaluated the framework for 2 months which had 548 citizens according to system data. According to our crowd sourcing project the most important issues that Chiang Mai is facing are pollution and traffic jams.</text>

<text>This article assesses the approaches that different national governments have employed to provide and conserve ecosystem services, focusing on policy instruments and common-law court decisions. Applying the lessons learned from this review, we address strategies for conservation of mangrove ecosystem services in Australia, focusing on the importance of creating a strong political mandate and demonstrating a clear connection between mangrove conservation and the benefits provided by mangrove services. This requires further research on which beneficiaries would be harmed, and by how much, if the mangrove service flows are reduced. Policy uptake can be slow. It has taken years in other jurisdictions for policies protecting ecosystem services to be adopted, and this will likely be the path in Australia as well.</text>

<text>This paper presents a modification of a well-known routing protocol, namely Ad hoc On-Demand Distance Vector, as a solution to improve the performance of mobile ad hoc networks. We adapted the mobile agent technology as to novel metrics for routing in those networks. The metric is a function of the loss rate, the bandwidth and the end-to-end delay of the link. Indeed, we established a new tunable parameter to obtain a tradeoff between throughput and delay when computing the new metric. As a result, any routing protocol using this metric can al-ways choose a high-throughput and low-delay path between a source and a destination. Hence, the achievable performance of the mobile ad hoc networks has been improved remarkably with our modified routing protocol,</text>

<text>Population in Bangalore during tha last 130 years has increased from 1.44 Million in 1871 to 5.68 million in 2001. The reasons for this is the increase in area of the city as seen in the enclosed map showing the major constituent units of Bangalore Urban Agglomeration in 2001 the reasons for this is due to (i) increase in fertility rate upto 80s (ii) decrease in mortality rates, (iii) incraase in area of the City due to urbanisatin of rural units around the city and futher growth of the core city itself owing to the incorporation of the surrounding area on a continuous basis over the year and (iv) Immigration or Citywardmigratin to Bangalore. One of the contributing factors under discussion is migration to Bangalore and hence other factors are not discussed in this paper.
The volume of inmigration to Bangalore is largely due to the industrialisation of Bangalore City since 1951 where the employment opportunities have been on the increase. Large scale construction activities, educational and employment oppurtunities, medical facilities, business and industrial activities, etc., availablae in Bangalore attracted large number of migrants.</text>

<text>The paper examines postcolonial concerns arising in and through the science fiction, “Delhi,” by Vandana Singh as the author consciously deviates from generic conventions of the structures of Western science fiction. We argue that the protagonist in “Delhi” could be viewed as a postcolonial subject experiencing alienation and powerlessness. The character‟s postcolonial subjectivity is traced through Singh‟s manipulations of western science fiction tropes vis-à-vis time-travel, technology, dystopia, and narrative techniques. Using „abrogation‟ and „appropriation‟ (Ashcroft, Griffiths & Tiffin, 1989), and Ricoeur‟s Time and Narrative (1988), the paper analyses how postcolonial elements are foregrounded. It also examines the larger implications of engaging in a postcolonial reading of a science fiction text produced from a technologically developing Indian context.</text>

<text>For decades, the media has been a powerful agency in presenting Kashmir and shaping views in the national and the international imaginations. Recognising the complex multiplexity of the influences on the media that report on Kashmir, this work is an endeavour to examine the history of the media’s relationship with the state through Archival Research. Documents accessed from Srinagar’s Civil Secretariat’s media section of the archives unravel the state’s attempts to establish a relationship with the media in the militarised region since the early 1950s. This research sheds light on the nature of the association between the media and the state, as this understanding is crucial in understanding any conflict region. Hence, it becomes necessary to uncover the trajectory of power, as well as the nuances of histo-political nature of the liaison between the two entities that have contoured the narrative on this region of conflict.</text>

<text>In this paper, we introduce a multi-stage offline holistic handwritten Arabic text recognition model using the Local Binary Pattern (LBP) technique and two machine-learning approaches; Support Vector Machines (SVM) and Artificial Neural Network (ANN). In this model, the LBP method is utilized for extracting the global text features without text segmentation. The suggested model was tested and utilized on version II of the IFN/ENIT database applying the polynomial, linear, and Gaussian SVM and ANN classifiers. Performance of the ANN was assessed using the Levenberg-Marquardt (LM), Bayesian Regularization (BR), and Scaled Conjugate Gradient (SCG) training methods. The classification outputs of the herein suggested model were compared and verified with the results obtained from two benchmark Arabic text recognition models (ATRSs) that are based on the Discrete Cosine Transform (DCT) and Principal Component Analysis (PCA) methods using various normalization sizes of images of Arabic text. The classification outcomes of the suggested model are promising and better than the outcomes of the examined benchmarks models. The best classification accuracies of the suggested model (97.46% and 94.92%) are obtained using the polynomial SVM classifier and the BR ANN training methods, respectively.</text>

<text>Virtual laboratories have evolved into an adequately mature educational tool for multiple fields of study. Their use is especially beneficial to modern topics such as modern wireless communications. Related solutions in this field explored various approaches and architectures in designing such a virtual environment. The presented software package combines these fragmentary conclusions to a holistic and extensible laboratory architecture. Classic and modern topics, such as propagation, green networking, indoor communications and sensor networks are discussed through interactive 2D/3D environments. The student is also introduced to field measurement procedures and ray tracing principles. Statistical assessment in the context of a postgraduate course in wireless communications demonstrates the educational benefits of the approach.</text>

<text>The growth of mobile commerce marketplaces worldwide has been boosted by modern advances in digital technology. However, Privacy and security are still concern in m-commerce application. Since the previous study has researched the link between security and privacy and purpose to use, the factors that influence the formation of privacy and security in m-commerce are mostly unidentified. On the basis of UTAUT2, this study investigates the factors of security and privacy effecting mobile commerce acceptance. A hybrid SEM-ANN method was utilized to identify non-linear and compensatory interactions. Compensatory and Linear models are based on the idea that a deficiency in one component might also be compensated for by other variables. Linear and Non-compensatory models, on the other hand, seem to overcomplicate buyer decision mechanisms. Survey criteria have been conducted to obtain 890 mobile commerce consumer’s datasets utilizing an application on m-commerce. The following are the results. (1) M-commerce acceptability and use were positively influenced by five determinants (Security, performance expectancy, effort expectancy, habit, and price value). (2) Un-authorization, Error, secondary usage, collection, control, and awareness were all shown to directly and significantly negatively impact M-COMMERCE acceptance and use. (3) Three additional variables (social influence, hedonic motivation, and facilitating conditions) did not affect customers' intentions to use m-commerce applications in Jordan. In m-commerce, the integrated model expects a 45% percent increase in security and privacy.</text>
