                <text>Mobile Ad hoc networks do not have any form of centralized control as per their definition. Therefore, many challenges face the development of efficient protocols for such networks. One of the main challenges is the difficulty of extracting the total number of nodes in the network, this paper aims to find an estimate for this number using the average hop count for messages exchanged in the network. Experiments of this paper are conducted on Ad Hoc networks under DSR and AODV routing protocols. Results show a relation between network size and average hop count that can be used to predict the number of nodes in the network.</text>

                <text>In this work, the effects of dimensionless parameters on the velocity field, thermal field and nanoparticle concentration have been analyzed. In this respect, the magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) boundary layer nanofluid flow along a moving wedge is considered. Therefore, a similarity solution has been derived like Falkner  Skan solution and identified the point of inflexion. So the governing partial differential equations transform into ordinary differential equations by using the similarity transformation. These ordinary differential equations are numerically solved using fourth order RungeKutta method along with shooting technique. The present results have been shown graphically and in tabular form. From the graph, the results indicate that the velocity increases with increasing values of pressure gradient, magnetic induction and velocity ratio. The temperature decreases for velocity ratio, Brownian motion and Prandtl number but opposite result arises for increasing values of thermophoresis. The nanoparticle concentration decreases with an increase in pressure gradient, Brownian motion and Lewis number, but increases for thermophoresis. Besides, the solution of nanoparticle concentration exists in the case of Brownian motion is less than 0.2, thermophoresis is less than 0.14 and lewis number is greater than 1.0. Finally, for validity and accuracy the present results have been compared with previous work and found to be in good agreement. </text>

                <text>This research paper investigated the hydrodynamic resistance of Multipurpose Amphibious Vehicles (MAV) due to navigate in low water depth numerically. This type of vehicle and other coastal floating vehicles encounter the problem of a small under keel clearance with river bed. The proper estimation of ship resistance and squat is influence largely on the power calculation in the design stage. The present work describes the effect of shallow water on the Multipurpose Amphibious Vehicles (MAV) resistance at different speed using Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) techniques. A comparison in the drag on the hull is illustrated between depth restriction and infinite depth water. This paper provides a wide introduction into the problems of modelling of the restricted water depth effects on the ship behaviour, specifically hydrodynamic resistance and squat using CFD which is applied by ANSYS-CFX14.0.</text>

                <text>The dynamic characteristics of the pressure and velocity fields of unsteady incompressible laminar and turbulent wakes behind a circular cylinder are investigated numerically and analyzed physically. The governing equations, written in the velocity pressure formulation are solved using 2-D finite volume method. The initial mechanism for vortex shedding is demonstrated and unsteady body forces are evaluated. The turbulent flow for Re = 1000 &amp;amp; 3900 are simulated using k-? standard, k-? Realizable and k-? SST turbulence models. The capabilities of these turbulence models to compute lift and drag coefficients are also verified. The frequencies of the drag and lift oscillations obtained theoretically agree well with the experimental results. The pressure and drag coefficients for different Reynolds numbers were also computed and compared with experimental and other numerical results.                 <text>A commercial CFD code Fluent 6.3® is used to simulate non-linear free surface flow and compute the impact load during variable velocity water entry of 2D wedge and ship section. The code uses the finite volume method to solve the conservation of mass and momentum equations to obtain simulated flow field. The interface between water and air was modeled using volume of fluid (VOF) method. Wedge section with 30 degree dead-rise angle and a ship section are numerically simulated. Time history of impact force and pressures at distinct locations are predicted; and compared with existing experimental results and other numerical methods.                 <text>Research vessels are commonly used on a daily basis for ocean exploration and payload handling. However, due to unpredictable wave motion on the ship and the flexibility of the cable, the heave of the ship is unavoidable and causes danger during operations, loss of payload, possible damages to expensive equipment and prolong period of downtime. A compensator system is an essential part of operations to mitigate this effect and to ensure safety, reduce down-time of operation and increase efficiency while providing longer and better duration of operation even in harsh conditions. In this article, a passive heave compensator system with cylinder, accumulator and depth compensator connected in series by pressured pipes developed for a scientific research ship with length of 68m and breath of 16m is analyzed along the coast of Guyana, South America. The payload used in this analysis is 200 ton. The working principle of the heave compensation system is described, the parameters affecting the performance of the system are simulated and analyzed using MatLab. A 3D model of the system is built using SolidWorks and schematic drawings are produced from AutoCAD. The compensation rate of the system is higher than 77% under the influence of the input wave and the system has a response of an average setting time of 18s. The point of maximum load exerted is at the splash zone. For a typical most probable extreme significant wave height, Hs= 2.3m, period T= 6s and direction μ= 45° in the operational area, the reduction in heave motion when the vessel is equipped with the heave compensator is approximately 77% compared to 47% reduction when the vessel is without a compensator. &amp;nbsp;</text>

                <text>This paper investigates the thermodynamic framework of a three-bed advanced adsorption chiller, where the mass recovery scheme has been utilized such that the performances of this chiller could be improved and a CFC-free-based sorption chiller driven by the low-grade waste heat or any renewable energy source can be developed for the next generation of refrigeration. Silica gel-water is chosen as adsorbent-refrigerant pair. The three-bed adsorption chiller comprises with three sorption elements (SEs), one evaporator and one condenser. The configuration of SE1 and SE2 are identical, but the configuration of SE3 is taken as half of SE1 or SE2. Mass recovery process occurs between SE3 with either SE1 or SE2 and no mass recovery between SE1 and SE2 occurs. The mathematical model shown herein is solved numerically. In the present numerical solution, the heat source temperature variation is taken from 50 to 90&amp;ordm;C along with coolant inlet temperature at 30&amp;ordm;C and the chilled water inlet temperature at 14&amp;ordm;C. A cycle simulation computer program is constructed to analyze the influence of operating conditions (hot and cooling water temperature) on COP (coefficient of performance), SCP (specific cooling power), &amp;eta; (chiller efficiency) and chilled water outlet temperature.                 <text>The present study is conducted to investigate heat and fluid flow in an open channel having a circular heater on the bottom surface under magnetic field. The semi-circle is heated isothermally and the other walls of the channel are kept adiabatic. The consequent mathematical model is governed by the coupled equations of mass, momentum and energy and solved by employing Galerkin weighted residual method of finite-element technique. A wide range of pertinent parameters such as Rayleigh numbers (Ra), and Hartmann numbers (Ha) are considered in the present study. In addition, the mixed convection regime is occurred due to buoyancy and shear forces. Various characteristics such as streamlines, isotherms and heat transfer rate in terms of the average Nusselt number (Nuav), average fluid temperature (?av), and Drag force (D) is investigated for the aforesaid parameters. The magnetic field is found as a control parameter on heat and fluid flow, particularly at higher Rayleigh numbers.
