<text>The research looks into the authoritarian regime survival strategies in Egyptand Turkey during the COVID-19 pandemic. Furthermore, it examines howthe autocratic rulers in both countries dealt with the securitization dilemmacaused by the coronavirus outbreak. It applies securitization theory and theconcept of selective securitization to argue that although both Abdel Fattahel-Sisi’s and Recep Tayyip Erdoğan’s rule were at some point expected to beshaken by the pandemic, the COVID-19 securitization dilemmas had animportant role in helping to prolong the autocratic directions of theirrespective countries. Additionally, the article demonstrates that thesecuritization of the COVID-19 pandemic in Egypt and Turkey follows acertain political pattern where every crisis constitutes an opportunity forexpanding the regimes’ powers at the expense of citizens’ rights.</text>

<text>Human beings are distinct from one another in each and every aspect of socio-cultural life. The virtue, colourfulness and beauty of human life is embedded in its diverse socio-cultural features and living circumstances. Languages, ethnic affiliations, beliefs and practices. Natural resources, climatic conditions, etc., contribute a lot in the development of multiple cultures across the world. In fact, plurality is the essence of human species. Nowadays, people belonging to varying affiliations of the nature mentioned above are sharing common resources and are in close contact with each other in their day to day life. Accordingly, a number of social adjustments and mobilizations are evolved to cope up with the changing socio-cultural, political and economic scenario of the society at large. This paper is an attempt to appraise the genesis, growth, nature and impact of group mobilizations as well as the ‘working of plurality’ in a multicultural society such as Kerala, the southern most State of the Indian union.</text>

<text>Alcohol and Other Drug (‘AOD’) use is prevalent in Australia and worldwide, and is frequently a factor in many crimes. Police are often required to assess whether an individual is relevantly intoxicated. This article reviews the current laws and research surrounding intoxication detection by police, with a focus on Australia. It finds that legislation governing criminal law and police powers offers little guidance, and training in intoxication assessment appears to be underdeveloped. It concludes that assumptions of police expertise in AOD intoxication detection should be viewed with caution. Further research is required into the adequacy of initial and continuing police training, and into the practices employed by police officers on the streets, at the police station, and in the courtroom.</text>

<text>Polish-German relations in the first half of 2014 were dominated by the Ukraine crisis. This study is an attempt to answer the question of how Polish and German press assessed the cooperation of both countries in resolving the conflict in Ukraine; to what extent the most widely read magazines associated themselves with the decisions of their politicians and the feelings of their own societies and how much understanding they showed for the arguments of their EU partner. The analysis focuses on the unprecedented mission of the Weimar Triangle foreign ministers to Ukraine in February 2014, which led to an agreement between the Ukrainian opposition and President Viktor Yanukovych. A turning point was the visit paid by Radoslaw Sikorski and Frank-Walter Steinmeier to St. Petersburg in June 2014. The next meetings agreed on by EU partners were held without inviting the Polish partner. In view of the speed of events in the selected time interval, the articles subjected to analysis were taken from the most widely read online editions of national daily newspapers in Poland and Germany.</text>

<text>Nicolae Iorga is a person of much significance in the history and culture of Romania. He very often spoke about Polish matters in a broad sense pertaining both to academic and political issues. Nicolae Iorga’s involvement with Poland is noticeable almost constantly during his scientific and political career. From the time of primary school to his tragic death, Poland and its affairs were present in his activities also through the influence of his teachers, professors or later political partners,. Thanks to his historical education, Iorga saw Poland as an important partner of Romania on the international stage; moreover, as a guarantee of political security; but also an important partner in the context of cultural development. The initiator of the Romanian language and culture courses at the Jagiellonian University, Nicolae Iorga was given a honorary doctorate by Wilno University in 1931 for his important role in strengthening relations between Poland and Romania.</text>

<text>A white fist punches the air, grasping tightly to a fluorescent green dollar bill — the Buycott app’s icon pictorially represents the power of consumer decisions. Buycott was developed by freelance programmer Ivan Pardo and released in May 2013 in order to provide its users with, in the words of its creator, “a platform that empowers [them] to make well-informed purchasing decisions.” The app allows consumers to make politically informed purchases, using their money as their ideological voice. Theoretically, the app was created for both conservative and liberal users, plus all those users in between. However, the app boasts overwhelmingly liberal campaigns, perhaps because liberal political participants are generally younger and more likely to utilize such a technology. </text>
