<text>The purpose of this investigation is to study the internet addition and its psychological-social effects in female internet users in Esfahan City, in the year 2006. The statistical population of this study was the whole population of the female internet users of the cities of Isfahan and Shaheenshar. 115 people (54 single females and 61 married females) who were the internet users of Isfahan City comprised the sample of this study. They were selected using the multistage cluster sampling method. The instrument of this investigation was a researcher-made questionnaire which contained 23 items measuring addiction to the Internet. <text>The Liberal Studies journal invited five eminent experts in the domain to ponder over the mental health challenges and concerns in contemporary times. Dr. B. Mukopadhyay discusses how the practices available in yogic sciences can preserve mental health and can prevent mental ailment along with its remedial measures. From the beginning of the last century research work on the psychology of the east created a huge impact among the psychologists and the educationists of the west and they observed yogic sciences form the core of eastern psychology. Dr. D.M. Pestonjee and Taronish Pastakia reflect upon inter-generational adjustment issues in the workplace. The modern world of work has to take into account factors like uncertainty, complexity, speed, technology, virtual- workspace, hyperspecialization, cultural diversity and communication, and also macro-level factors like gender-issues, work-life balance, the changing legal environment, social structure, and support systems and mental health issues. Cutting-edge advances in the virtual-workspace like the roles of Virtual Reality (VR) and Augmented Reality (AR) have also been discussed.

<text>This study was conducted to develop a smartphone application to enhance self-efficacy for online learning. The theory of planned behaviour (TPB) was used as a framework for developing the smartphone app. The study used research and design (R&D) through three phases: 1) examining relevant literature and interviewing recognized experts in the field, 2) developing the smartphone app, and 3) studying the effect of the smartphone app on the self-efficacy of online learners. The results demonstrated that the framework of the smartphone application based on the TPB comprised six components. They were 1) the TPB’s concept for online learning, 2) instructional process, 3) instructional support tools, 4) application features, 5) instructor’s role, and 6) learner’s role. For technical aspects, the smartphone app was developed and deployed by using Amazon Web Service (AWS) cloud computing platform and infrastructure. Studying the effect of the application on self-efficacy was performed for four weeks using two groups in a pre-test/post-test design. The research method involved purposive sampling of 180 undergraduate students, consisting of a 90-student experimental group and a 90-student control group. The application based on the TPB and the application without the TPB were implemented in the experimental group and the control group, respectively. The results demonstrated that the post-test score of self-efficacy in online learning for the experimental group was statistically significantly higher than the control group at 0.05 level. This result showed that the smartphone app based on the TPB could significantly affect self-efficacy for online learners; it has the potential to be an effective tool for teaching an online course.</text>

<text>This article provides the first comprehensive analysis of Queensland’s new ‘journalist privilege’ provisions (or ‘shield law’), introduced into Div 2B of the Evidence Act 1977 (Qld) in 2022, and evaluates the merits of these provisions against comparable legislation in other jurisdictions. This article aims to inform law reform to protect press freedom by recommending that shield laws across Australia be amended to adopt the favourable aspects of Queensland’s new shield law. Conversely, the article also argues that the shortfalls in Queensland’s own shield law, and the shield laws of other jurisdictions, can be rectified by incorporating into them the beneficial features of shield laws nationwide. Doing so would produce a uniform and exemplar shield law which provides uniform protections in all Australian jurisdictions.</text>

<text>The adoption of virtual learning environment (VLE) has started to gain serious attention worldwide including Malaysia, where its usage during the Covid-19 pandemic outbreak has become a necessity. Nevertheless, the extent to which teachers have adopted the VLE and which factors are most influencing the continuance intention to adopt VLE post pandemic remain ambiguous. The objective of this conceptual study is to provide a conceptual framework in investigating the factors that most influence the continuance intention to adopt VLE among teacher in Malaysian school. This study overviews several important variables that may influence the continuance intention to adopt VLE from three contexts (technology, organization and environment) which include relative advantage, compatibility. observability, technological infrastructure, school support, technical support and government support. Finally, this study can improve the understanding about which factors that may encourage or hinder the continuance intention to adopt VLE in Malaysian school to enhance education quality for societal change.</text>

The impulse came from the passing of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities and its adoption in many parts of the world. In Germany, its ratification has led to numerous measures (laws, projects) for the creation of an inclusive society. Language is of special importance in this context. Easy Language is a form of barrier-free communication and is meant to make (specialist) information and (professional) communication accessible to certain target groups (among others, persons with mental disabilities, aphasia, German as a second language). It originated from practice-oriented work. Theoretically and empirically assessing its possibilities, potentials and limits urgently requires linguistic research, too. On a text linguistic basis, the contribution argues for the use of Clear Language and for a wider perspective on the concept of lay persons within expert-lay communication. The key question is how legal texts can be clearly formulated and conveyed to the addressees (including the average person)? – What is offered here is a sound solution: the Comprehensibility Model of Legal Language (“Rechtslinguistisches Versta?ndlichkeitsmodell”).</text>

On a military level, these indicators are: military expenditure, soldiers/reserve/soldiers abroad, offensive weapons, nuclear warheads. On an economic level: GDP value, reserve currency/public debt to GNP, direct investment home and abroad. With regard soft power, six categories have been taken into consideration: diplomacy, socio-political, socio-economic, education, high and popular culture. All of the three researched levels were correlated with both states’ political system specificity and the character of the international arena’s relations.
