The primary goal here is to conduct a philosophical investigation into the gender-biased practice of femicide in order to eventually construct and exhibit the affinity between the generally deemed elementary-physical and the complementary-symbolic facet of this category of violence. To be precise, by categorically alluding to Bourdieu’s notion of habitus and field, the paper attempts to demonstrate how the issue of femicide is substantially embedded in the symbolic schema. I centrally argue for the importance of re-conceptualising femicide as a continuum of symbolic form of violence in order to demonstrate that femicide does not solely necessitate and imply the perceptible physical act of the killing of females, rather, it also involves symbolic connotations. I recognise and expostulate that these symbolic connotations denote the prevalence of unfair and unjust state of affairs and the fact that physical violence is an embodied manifestation of these mundane state of affairs. Personality refers to individual differences in characteristic patterns of thinking, feeling and behaving. The study of personality focuses on two broad areas: One understands individual differences in particular personality characteristics, such as sociability or irritability. The other understands how the various characteristics of a person come together as a whole. The present research is to study the role of different personality types among adult criminals. The primary objective is to study and compare the role of personality along with its different dimensions (Decisiveness, Responsibility, Emotional Stability, Masculinity, Friendliness, Heterosexuality, Ego-Strength, Curiosity, Dominance, Self-concept) between the Gender (male criminals and female criminals). The second objective is to study and compare the role of personality along with its different dimensions between the Types of crime (high charged and low charged criminals). The third objective is to find out an interaction effect between gender and the type of crime in criminals with regard to the role of personality. The sample size comprised 120 criminals, 60 males, and 60 females. The data was collected by a two-stage stratified random sampling method from a local jail. The tool used was Differential Personality Inventory Scale by Arun Kumar Singh and Ashish Kumar Singh (1971) which has 150 items. The anticipated result of the study indicates a significant difference among male criminals and female criminals on personality. Males were more prone to crime than females.
