<text>In Jordan Referral re Al-Bashir, the appeals chamber of the International Criminal Court (ICC) had to decide (1) whether Jordan had an obligation to arrest and surrender the sitting head of state of Sudan to the ICC for crimes against his own people and (2) whether to refer the matter of Jordan’s alleged noncompliance to the United Nations Security Council (UNSC). The appeals chamber tackled both questions inappropriately. On the one hand, in view of the lack of guidance from the UNSC and the whole mess created during the “AlBashir saga,” the chamber should have found that Jordan justifiably failed to comply with the arrest warrant issued by the ICC. On the other hand, the ICC should have referred the whole matter to the UNSC. This Article addresses these issues while surveying the centuries’ long evolution of the law on the international criminal responsibility of heads of state. While relying on prevalentaccounts on International Criminal Law (ICL), the appeals chamber narrates a story according to which, for a long time, heads of state enjoyed absolute immunity—even with regard to international criminal conduct. However, at present, such immunity does not operate before international courts. The whole story does not correspond to the most compelling account of the evolution of thelaw on international crimes.</text>

<text>This research uses the Android module based on a strategy called "inquiry-based learning" and "flipped classroom" to help people utilize their cross-disciplinary skills in complex real-world situations. This experiment showed how the Android module-based inquiry flipped classroom learning affects math pre-service teachers' ability to solve mathematical problems and think creatively in geometry. In the third term, 123 students were randomly assigned Android module-based inquiry flipped classroom learning, PowerPoint module-based conventional flipped learning, or conventional learning. The study found that math pre-service teachers were much better at solving mathematics problems and creative thinking when using Android module-based inquiry flipped classroom learning because its use effectively extends learning time, permits the acquisition of more knowledge, and encourages a collective responsibility for learning in order to engage in the process of deeper learning. This type of learning also helps them learn how to deal with real-world problems that they may face in their future jobs. This implication can guide instructional designers on how to help students solve math problems and think creatively.</text>

<text>The study aims to identify the impact of blended learning using the Ideas Box on the motivation toward learning among non-formal education female students in the Syrian refugee camps in Jordan. A semi-experimental approach was adopted; the sample of the study consisted of 30 female students enrolled in the Culture Promotion Program for Dropouts, second cycle, in the JOHUD Center for Social Support in January 2020. The experimental group consisted of 15 students who were taught the Islamic Pillars unit using the Ideas Box while the control group consisted of 15 students taught the same unit using the traditional way. Results show that there were no significant differences in mean scores of motivation between the two groups. This finding stresses the need for redesigning the current program used to teach students receiving the non-formal education to incorporate the Ideas Box into the curriculum.</text>

<text>Previous research has examined the impact of the match between expert witness gender and the gender-orientation of the case, suggesting that traditional gender-role stereotyping was influencing mock jurors’ decisions. Manipulations of the orientation of the domain of the case focus on the knowledge area of the case itself, rather than the actual knowledge of the expert. This reveals little about the impact of the association between the role of the expert and the expert’s gender. The present study investigated whether perceivers make use of gender stereotypes as a shortcut for decisions when presented with the testimony of an expert witness. It was predicted that participants would award a higher amount of damages to the plaintiff when the plaintiff’s expert’s gender matched their role compared to when it did not match. It was also predicted that participants’ evaluation of the plaintiff’s expert witness’s testimony and the expert would be more positive in the gender-role congruent condition. As expected, the female expert’s testimony was viewed more positively when occupying a female-oriented role compared to a male-oriented role, and that the expertise of the female expert was evaluated more favourably in the female-oriented role compared to the male-oriented role. Despite the impact of gender stereotypes in biasing the evaluation of expert testimony on several dimensions, this had no apparent impact on award decisions.</text>

<text>Google Apps brought many opportunities to enhance the work performance in the higher educational settings. This study aims to investigate the impact of Google Apps at work from the perspective of the higher educational institutions. An online questionnaire survey has been prepared and distributed among the academic and administrative staff at Al Buraimi University College, Oman for data collection. The total number of participants was 34. Different statistical analyses were performed on the collected data. Results revealed that the administrative staffs were more positive toward using Google Apps than the academics in performing their work while 58.8 % of the Academics indicated that they are using Google Apps in processing their work. The results of this study indicate that Google Apps are highly perceived by both academic and administrative staffs. This is evidence that these Apps have a significant impact on performing the work in the higher educational settings. Limitations and future work have been addressed.</text>
