<text>Several factors have hampered economic growth in Nigeria, though there has been improvement in the recent times. Nevertheless, it remains fragile and is not strong enough to significantly reduce the prevailing level of poverty in the country. Against this backdrop, the study investigates the relationship between foreign and domestic investment on Economic growth in Nigeria, during the period 1980-2013, using Vector Error Correction Model (VECM). The study finds out that foreign and domestic investment have a strong influence both in short and long run, on the economic growth of Nigeria. The result shows unidirectional long-run causality between domestic investments to real GDP in Nigeria. Also, there is unidirectional long-run causality between exchange rate and real GDP in Nigeria. The result implies that change in current GDP is better explained by domestic investment and exchange rate rather than national income, foreign direct investment and credit to private sector. Hence, the government may encourage foreign investors to invest in the high risk areas, where the domestic investment lacks the technology and experiences needed.</text>

<text>Adaptive augmented reality (AAR) is the latest concept of the augmented reality that responds and adapts to a real-time context and thecharacteristics of the users. This concept is said to provide adaptation of 3Daugmented reality, better engagement and more emotional experience to theusers. In AAR, the information is provided to the users through interaction tracking and sensor on the device. However, this technology is still in itsinfancy. Therefore, a study to explore positive ways of providing relevantinformation that can enhance user experience is urgently required. Theobjective of this paper is to identify the components of an AAR model forheritage mobile application. It is hypothesized that such model would enhance user experience and provide better engagement. Consequently, models from past studies on Augmented Reality, UX Design and storytelling are reviewed. Findings indicate that personalization and emotion are among the important components. Inclusion of these components seems to allow users to be more engaged and inspired to learn about the cultural heritage, hence enhances user experience.</text>

<text>Wave interaction with a floating thin elastic plate which can be used as floating platform is analyzed using Boundary Element Method (BEM) for different shapes such as rectangular, circular and triangular. Different support conditions are considered and the performance of the floating platform under the action of ocean waves is explored. The study is performed under the assumption of linearized water wave theory and the floating elastic plate is modelled based on the Euler-Bernoulli beam theory. Using Galerkin’s approach, a numerical model has been developed and the hydrodynamic loading on the floating elastic plate of shallow draft (thickness) is investigated. The wave forces are generated by the numerical model for the analysis of the floating plate. The resulting bending moment and optimal deflection due to encountering wave force is analysed. The present study will be helpful in design and analysis of the large floating platform in ocean waves.</text>

The need today is to restructure and reshape a ‘big war military with smart, lean, agile and combined arms joint warfare smart capabilities’. India’s military strategy must focus on ‘offensive domination with maneuver warfare orientation rather than attritionist ground holding mindsets. The restructuring philosophy will accordingly need to focus on a ‘capability-based approach with deterrence based on denial’. The operational need is to move from large bulky formations to modular technology-enabled networked Brigades and Divisional sized Integrated Battle Groups (IBGs). The challenge is to restructure in an institutionalized time-bound manner that is neither too much too soon nor too little too late.</text>

<text>This paper focuses on processes of political integration for immigrants in the Italian context, constituting as it does an understudied topic. It does so by looking at one specific community, Albanian immigrants, who have been typically heavily stigmatized. While Albanian immigration in Italy has been a focus of previous research, no consideration so far has been given to naturalization and its influence on other political processes at the level of immigrants’ daily lives. Through the meanings which participants of this research attribute to citizenship and their acting as political agents, the paper unpacks the relations between this "status passage" (Glaser and Strauss 1971) and the political integration of immigrants. The findings show a very complex picture in which multiple factors and interactions play an important role. Legally speaking, Italian citizenship is a pre-condition for immigrants to enjoy the right to vote in elections at all levels, which participants considered a significant indicator of their political integration. Therefore, the political integration of immigrants is heavily conditioned by naturalization, which gives access to political rights, voice and representation as regulated at the state level. However, when considering the role of age and social capital in processes of political integration, there is also reason to believe that the political mobilization and participation of the youngest and most well-educated participants is not as exclusively attached to such formal recognition as a political subject.

<text>This article reflects on the contrast between theoretical Marxism, especially its views on the state, and the actual developments in Russia and China, in which Marxist inspired revolutions created totalitarian states similar to Oriental despotism, and this became especially clear in China, where totalitarian arrangements fit well with native traditions. While Communist rule reinforced the country’s totalitarian traditions, it hardly hampered the country’s economy. Actually, the opposite happened: totalitarian China engaged in speedy progress and would most likely emerge as a global leader in the foreseeable future.</text>

<text>The proliferation of increasingly interactive e-reader devices such as the Amazon Kindle represents an opportunity to explore their evolving pedagogical value. This study aims to investigate how use of the Kindle can enhance individuals’ English language learning—more specifically their attitudes, reading comprehension, vocabulary development and pronunciation performance—in the context of informal and lifelong learning in Palestine, and to explore the further potential of scaling up the use of e-readers at a national level. At the piloting stage of this initiative, the study operated at two levels (micro and meso) of the M3 evaluation framework. Mixed methods were used: qualitative data were obtained through a case study of the practices and perceptions of two teachers in two classrooms in the Qalqilia center and quantitative data were collected through a survey of 114 learners. The study shows that the Kindle’s technological affordances are effective in creating a flexible, authentic and interactive environment for English language learning, provided that teachers change their teaching methods to take full advantage of the features of mobile technologies to create innovative learning approaches aligned with the needs of the e-generation. It was also found that despite some concerns with the usability issue, attitudes towards learning English changed positively and learners’ vocabulary and pronunciation improved.</text>

It tries to debunk various myths regarding advertisements by highlighting the ‘asset creating ability' of advertisements that ‘helps develop brands out of generic products.' Before advertising, marketers begin with correctly identifying the need gap and developing the products accordingly so as to cater to the requirements of customers.
