<text>Internet users are increasingly becoming self-publishing consumers. Applying the Uses and Gratifications (U&G) perspective, this study investigated how people use TikTok in terms of consuming, participating and producing behaviors, and examined the role of personality traits and users’ motivation as predictors to this integrated usage behavior. An online survey was conducted to recruit 385 TikTok users using online network sampling technique. Our findings suggest that it was users’ motivations, not personality traits, that have significant influence on TikTok use. Results show that users’ motivations – namely archiving, self-expression, social interaction and peeking – are significant predictors to TikTok usage behaviors but differ in levels and influence. This study contributes to both the theoretical and the empirical understanding of media use in a user-generated media (UGM) context.</text>

<text>One of the main issues in international relations today is about the security of (natural) resources. Water is now increasingly viewed as one of strategic resource that has to be secured. In this context, water security and international relations are often intertwined. It can lead to either interstate cooperation and even conflict. This paper discusses the importance of water management in the Mekong river. This river flows from China, to Myanmar, Thailand, Laos, Cambodia and ends in Vietnam. Mekong river is also one of the world’s greatest and resource rivers. This paper argues that the water security management in the Mekong River is not only crucial for the above countries but it is also playing a very significant role in the regional stability in Southeast Asia.</text>

<text>Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) used in data processing is OMRON Corp's CP1E type. In this research, a prototype was produced using a solenoid valve amounting to 24 which will be used as output for sequential water based on timer and presser given on parameters. Five experiments are basic patterns: chessboard triangle, zebra cross, off shift, and on shift. The experiment used fuzzy logic parameters to obtain accuracy in the waterfall; the timer is on the ladder diagram to provide the value of the combination of falling water that varies on each pattern. The accuracy value in the range 0-1 on one experiment is off-shifted. At the value of 0.206 bar presser, the water accuracy level is 0.811. At the 0.41 bar presser level, the accuracy level is 0.532; the conclusion produced by the presser is very influential on the water accuracy level at the waterfall. This research applies a PLC approach to the Internet of Things (IoT) for flexibility control and monitoring needs.</text>

<text>Wave interaction with a floating thin elastic plate which can be used as floating platform is analyzed using Boundary Element Method (BEM) for different shapes such as rectangular, circular and triangular. Different support conditions are considered and the performance of the floating platform under the action of ocean waves is explored. The study is performed under the assumption of linearized water wave theory and the floating elastic plate is modelled based on the Euler-Bernoulli beam theory. Using Galerkin’s approach, a numerical model has been developed and the hydrodynamic loading on the floating elastic plate of shallow draft (thickness) is investigated. The wave forces are generated by the numerical model for the analysis of the floating plate. The resulting bending moment and optimal deflection due to encountering wave force is analysed. The present study will be helpful in design and analysis of the large floating platform in ocean waves.</text>

<text>This work proposes a solution to overcome the effect for one of the main drawbacks of these days’ wireless systems, where Multiple-Input Multiple-Output (MIMO)-Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) combinations has been used. High peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR) arises after the OFDM stage and reduces the performance of the used nonlinear devices. Therefore, a new stage has been imposed between the MIMO and OFDM block. It is based on the entropy meaning of the wavelet transformation to trigger a proposed thresholding criterion and reconstruct the OFDM signal. As a result, the probability of high PAPR appearance will be limited and reduced; a promising result over our recently published work has been conducted; 15-25% extra reduction. This work could be denoted by MIMO-OFDM based on Entropy Wavelet Transform (MO-EWT) systems.
The MO-EWT validity has been checked based on either numerical analysis or conducted simulation based on MATLAB; where 80% improvement of reducing the high PAPR has been achieved over the literature. These results have been reached using the same environment conditions and at additional cost and complexity of the transceivers structure.</text>

<text>One of the most important measures that developed countries need along with economic success is the provision of contemporary health services for the elderly. Inadequate care for the elderly can put them in danger of falls with serious injury or even death. When an older person falls due to illness, immediate lack of care may lead to death. In this paper, a wearable smart phone sensor fall event detection system is introduced. The proposed system utilizes real-time raw sensory accelerometer, gyroscope and gravity data collected from the AndroSensor App and is then processed and applied to a machine learning classifier. The smart phone is positioned at the waistline to yield the most accurate fall detection results. The system is trained and can detect common activities, like sleeping, walking, sitting, jogging, and events, such as falling in any direction. An full accuracy is almost accomplished using Support Vector Machine classifier in comparison with other classifiers as addressed by other previous research works. Nevertheless, the system requires more validation with elderly people under the supervision of caregivers in a controlled environment.</text>

<text>Context awareness is essential in mobile learning being a highly personalized environment with diverse capabilities. Major challenges of context awareness are to define the learning context, how to sense it, and how to react to changes. Our proposed system provides a general architecture that facilitates contextualization using current widely-used web standards. It provides a systematic approach to achieve contextualization defining major components and their functionalities without deepening into details. It uses web services to connect to resources making them reusable and distributable. In addition, all technologies and platforms proposed in our system are available under General Public License (GPL) hence facilitating immediate implementation. The paper ends with a real world scenario where m-Learning could be the only solution.</text>

<text>In the digital era, the internet is one of the most influential learning resources in various sectors including the education sector. With the digitalization process in the education sector, the learning process can be carried out anywhere and anytime, the concept of "space and time" which has been an indicator in determining the speed and understanding of students begins to fuse with digital learning in the form of virtual learning, this is in line with the concept of a life-based curriculum which emphasizes that the learning process can be carried out anywhere, in any situation and circumstance. This study aims to develop a website-based government learning product as a learning innovation in the implementation of a life-based curriculum. The specific objectives of this study are (1) how the characteristics of the development of website-based government learning are, and (2) how effective the development of website-based government learning is. The development is carried out using the development model from Sugiyono (2013) which has been adjusted by the researcher. The product of the learning model was then tested for validity and product testing with students majoring in Law and Citizenship at the State University of Malang as test respondents .
