<text>This article examines the process for seeking redress under Australia’s racial vilification laws. Recently, the debate concerning pt IIA of the Racial Discrimination Act 1975 (Cth) has focused on unmeritorious complaints and the importance of quickly terminating such complaints. This article argues that pt IIA establishes a civil wrong and that corrective justice provides an appropriate framework for understanding the process by which complainants may seek redress for this wrong. However, the remedial process currently fails to provide corrective justice in two ways. First, conciliation is compulsory and this unduly restricts complainants from commencing proceedings. This is inconsistent with the public character of vilification, which indicates that public vindication may be more appropriate than private settlement. Second, current costs rules may deter complainants from seeking vindication of their rights. Therefore, these rules should be modified in proceedings for racial vilification.</text>

<text>Corruption is as aged as the existence of man and it exists in all sphere of human life. The persistency of corruption erodes the social economic value of a nation. The study investigates the relationship between corruption and economic growth in Nigeria, in the period 1980-2013, using the VAR analysis. The study finds the existence of long-term relationship between corruption and unemployment growth on the economic growth of Nigeria. Also, the study found no short-term relationship in corruption and unemployment on economic growth. Hence, the result in the analysis shows that corruption positively has a strong influence on the output of Nigeria. So the rise in growth rate experienced in Nigeria is influenced by high corruption rate in the country, which is making the few rich to be richer, eradicating the middle class and making the poor to be poorer. Therefore, there is a need to develop political will to prosecute anyone found guilty of corruption irrespective of their position, tribe, religion or party affiliation. Such a punishment would also serve as a deterrent to others and help improve real economic growth and development.</text>

<text>The paper explores selected factors influencing the process of radicalisation leading to the use of political violence and terror by the Muslim minorities living in the European Union member states. Internal and external catalysts conditioning this process and methods of their analysis have been presented. The second section examines various counter-radicalisation and de-radicalisation efforts of the EU. The authors analysed the multidimensional European Union policy in the area of counteracting radicalisation for empowering the population and member states in preventing the radicalisation and recruitment to terrorism and emphasising the role of social partners and local authorities. Also, the promotion of good practices for combating radicalisation, developed under the auspices of the multidisciplinary Radicalisation Awareness Network (RAN) is presented.</text>

COVID-19 has disrupted China's dream of showcasing to the world a model state with Chinese characteristics. Influence operations thus form the basis of curating and presenting a credible image of the Communist Party of China (CPC) besides altering the behaviour of its adversaries. China has tried to firewall the western influence besides making inroads into other countries' economic, political, and societal institutions. At the time of the COVID-19 crisis, it is employing leverages to correct the narrative while gaining situational awareness through revamped structures and employment of technologies. It is thus imperative to appraise China's influence operations capabilities.</text>

<text>For the development of deepwater marginal fields, many new platform concepts and designs are on the anvil. The mini TLP is a proven concept in this regard wherein an optimised conventional TLP system economically and efficiently serves in developing small marginal deepwater reserves. Various new geometric configurations and designs of mini TLPs are reported in the literature. This paper presents a new geometric configuration which could be a better alternative to an existing configuration. A 3-column mini TLP is designed and its platform-mooring coupled dynamic behaviour is investigated and compared with an existing 4-column mini TLP. The numerical investigation is carried out for the 1:56 scaled model using a finite element computer program suitable for compliant offshore platforms. A combination wave force model with diffraction-radiation loading on large members and Morison loading on slender members is adopted for computing the non-linear dynamic response of the structure. The effects of parameters such as pretension in tethers and wave approach angle have been studied. The results obtained are compared with published results of the 4-column mini TLP. It is found that the dynamic responses of the 3-column mini TLP are close to the 4-column mini TLP with relatively higher surge and tether tension. Accounting for this in the design stage, the newly designed structure could be a promising candidate which can be used as an alternative to the 4-column mini TLP. Reducing the number of columns from four to three has added advantages in terms of cost and time during fabrication, installation and maintenance of the platform. <text>An analysis is performed to study the thermal radiation and chemical reaction effects on coupled heat and mass transfer by MHD natural convective boundary-layer flow of a micropolar fluid over a permeable truncated cone with variable surface temperature and concentration. A suitable set of dimensionless variables is used to transform the governing equations of the problem into a non-similar form. The resulting non-similar equations have the property that they reduce to various special cases previously considered in the literature. An adequate and efficient implicit, tri-diagonal finite difference scheme is employed for the numerical solution of the obtained equations. Various comparisons with previously published work are performed and the results are found to be in excellent agreement. A representative set of numerical results for the velocity, microrotation, temperature and concentration profiles as well as the local skin-friction coefficient, local wall couple stress, local Nusselt number and the local Sherwood number is presented graphically for various parametric conditions and discussed.DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.3329/jname.v10i2.15898</text>

<text>Covid-19 pandemic has opened a new chapter in the International Relations sphere. Its spread is accelerated by the advancement of technology that only globalization has made possible. Among several measures to survive, vaccines are perceived as critical and controversial. The objective of this research is to grasp a better understanding from different perspectives of stakeholders in International Relations, regarding interdependence between developing and developed countries in the international system, using the vaccine. In doing so, this research also analyzes the dynamics in the ASEAN context. Neoliberalism serves as the ore theoretical framework alongside the concepts of interdependence and international cooperation. This research is a qualitative one, using mostly primary data that is gathered from an interview with academicians, researchers, government officials, and students – and secondary data. The results show that the ongoing pandemic has directed developing countries to depend on developed countries with capabilities in vaccines production, including ASEAN member states. The fact that vaccines are even used as a political instrument is found ill-fitted. However, there is still confident that this dependency will move to interdependency once developing countries have found effective strategies in coping with the situation – and it has started. </text>
