<text>Depression is one of the most common mental health disorders which affects thousands of lives worldwide. The variation of depressive symptoms among individuals makes it difficult to detect and diagnose early. Moreover, the diagnosing procedure relies heavily on human intervention, making it prone to mistakes. Previous research shows that smartphone sensor data correlates to the users’ mental conditions. By applying machine learning algorithms to sensor data, the mental health status of a person can be predicted. However, traditional machine learning faces privacy challenges as it involves gathering patient data for training. Newly, federated learning has emerged as an effective solution for addressing the privacy issues of classical machine learning. In this study, we apply federated learning to predict depression severity using smartphone sensing capabilities. We develop a deep neural network model and measure its performance in centralized and federated learning settings. The results are quite promising, which validates the potential of federated learning as an alternative to traditional machine learning, with the added benefit of data privacy. </text>

<text>The current research work investigates numerically the turbulent flow field characteristics around three dimensional circular cylinder of finite height at Reynolds number of 43000 using Detached Eddy Simulation (DES) turbulence model. Comparison of the numerical results with the experiment data has been taken place. The results reveals that the DES turbulence model is superior for predicting the flow past the circular cylinder of finite height at this Re. The numerical results of this study show the great potential of the presented DES for investigating the complicated flow structure in this case. DES is very accurate for predicting the flow characteristics in many sophisticated cases and can reduce the computational efforts during the simulation process in comparison with Large Eddy Simulation (LES) turbulence mathematical model. </text>

<text>The present study is aimed to design an adaptive mobile scaffolding System (AMSS) to provide educational scaffolding to students that is compatible with their cognitive style simplicity vs complexity (CSSC), and to measure the effectiveness of the model in enhancing students' digital well-being (DWB) in the Faculty of education, University of XXXX. Semi-experimental design of two groups was used: the first experimental group received unified mobile scaffold regardless of their cognitive styles. The second experimental group received mobile scaffold that was organized and directed to the students based on their characteristics related to their CSSC. Both experimental groups received mobile scaffold as a complementary component to the lectures delivered for the Technological Innovations in Education course in the General Diploma in Education. The study sample consisted of (71) students who met the requirements and they were randomized to two experimental groups. To examine the effectiveness of the AMSS, a DWB scale was developed. Kelly's scale of CSSC was used to identify students who fell within the scope of this style. The results were statistically analyzed using T-test to compare between the groups and to determine the significance of differences. The results showed the effectiveness of the proposed model of AMSS in developing the students’ DWB compared to the unified scaffold model.</text>

<text>This paper is about Ocean Strider; an Underwater Hybrid Vehicle that is modified with hybrid (manual and autonomous) control system. The aims concerning this Underwater Hybrid Vehicle are to be competent to operate underwater by using remote control via operator and seek out the user interested objects, and in case of autonomously to be smart, to visually follow and manage a secured position comparable to a motionless target, and to visually follow and move behind a moving target and avoid the hindrances for reliable navigation. Vision is a fundamental root that promotes the underwater robot to execute various tasks autonomously. Ocean Strider is intelligent to explicitly identify and locate objects by specifying from distinct color codes and dimension of the objects and respond accordingly. Multiple experiments have been conducted in the laboratory the robot successfully operates manually and grasp the objects underwater, and the robot can locate and track the objects autonomously, secure a fixed distance to the fixed object and travel onward with the object as it moves. </text>

<text>A Pico hydro power plant is one good solution to support energy independence for rural areas in Indonesia. The problem that normally emerged is the uncertainty of water debit. This may cause the damage of the Pico hydro power plant equipment. The main objective of this study is to design a water flow monitoring (WAFLOW-MT) device based on the Internet of Things (IoT). This device may help the technicians at the Pico hydro power plant in monitoring the speed of water flow at the river so that the water debit is recorded all the time. The design and development process of the WAFLOW-MT device was done through 4 stages: 1) need analysis; 2) system design; 3) system development, and 4) system testing. The data was collected from the water flow sensor and sent via IoT to the webserver thingspeak.com by 6 days duration of testing. According to the testing result, it can be concluded that the WAFLOW-MT device successfully monitored the water flow of the river.</text>

<text>Abstract—One of the major global issues today is the growing requirements for high-speed data transmission, energy consumption, and the huge volume of data utilized by a variety of multimedia applications such as video streaming, monitoring systems, and gaming. In this research, an analysis is carried out to study the design and evaluation of performance underwater OWC systems (UOWC) through medium communication link ranges to overcome absorption and scattering and to meet the requirements of a wide variety of optical wireless applications. Two modulation schemes of technology have been proposed in the UOWC system which is Differential Phase Shift Keying (DPSK) modulation with Direct Detection (DD) and the DPSK modulation with Coherent Detection (CD), both of them used Optical Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) based on different configurations of multi-input multi-output technology (MIMO). The mathematical model has been proposed to calculate optimal beacon period (BI) and listen to the interval (LI) for preventing overlapping time between the signals and the required power is reduced. By using different types of water the simulation results are displayed the best performance of the UOWC system from link rang and receiver sensitivity. The simulation result of BER is equal 10-5, BI equal to 85ms, and LI equal to 108ms.</text>

As a result, traffic jams became a big problem that led to long waiting time at each intersection, increased car accidents, pollution, and economic problems. <text>Any educational institution aimed at developing towards e-learning and creating a more interactive environment and use in all fields of governmental institutions. The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research (MOHESR) of Iraq and some of the countries in the Middle East suffer from weak use of information technology in general and weak use of e-learning in particular. Therefore, Iraqi MOHESR is in dire need of an electronic educational system that solves most of the problems experienced by most educational institutions. In this paper, we will develop a strategic plan to build an e-learning platform that provides an interactive environment between teachers and students in Iraqi universities and offers many advantages to overcome some problems in the use of traditional old education. This work is related to the use of multi-layered architecture to build the e-learning platform (Standard design of e-learning platform for IraqiMOHESR). The advantage of these layers is that each layer is created in the Asp.Net program using N-Tier architecture that has functions that are independent of the rest of the layers which are(user interface(UI), business Access Layer(BAL),Data AccessLayer(DAL), Database(DB)). A particular object will not affect the rest of the layers or the performance of these layers. </text>

Before this game application is used, it must be tested first. Test method used is black box testing, to test the functionality of game applications. Other tests are also conducted to obtain information about the material access frequency and reset quizzes by players. The result of black box testing is all the functionality in the BEG application in accordance with what is expected. The result of the frequency testing accessing the menu on BEG of Material Section is Wadai Banjar 2 Menu with 59 times, and the frequency reset on BEG of Quiz Section is a type of Drag and Drop quiz with 21 times and generate feedback from quiz in the form of final value with average 89.17%.</text>

<text>This document Designing system with Free-space optical (FSO) communication can supply high-speed digital data linkages to rural regions where geography, setup costs, and groundwork safety are major obstacles. Transmission impairments and space loss could be considered major challenges for handling the FSO system. This work has been designed and analyzed a system based on the combination of Dual Polarization Differential Quadrature Phase Shift Keying (DP-DQPSK) and Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing (DWDM) using the Direct Detection (DD) technique. The proposed system has been utilized with a hybrid transmission medium of Single-Mode Fiber (SMF) with a fixed length of 60 km and FSO with varied lengths of (5, 7, and 9) km. The system was designed with Optisystem software 18 and consist of 64 channels and 14 Gbps of data rate per channel to make the system 5G communication compatible, 3.5 GHz RF electrical signals have been used to modulate the optical carrier. The channels 1,6,12, …,64 were selected as samples among all channels to be investigated and analyzed along with four different atmospheric weather conditions. Additionally, the proposed system is designed to investigate based on different weather attenuation that affected the parameters of Quality Factor (QF) and Bit Error Rate (BER). The significant advantage of the proposed system by using the DD technique, is no reference wave required. Hence, make the system become less complex and possible to be implemented and tested via different weather conditions. Results obtained indicate reverse relation between the QF and both the FSO distance and attenuation. While, BER based parameters showed a direct relation. For light air and haze, the results showed that the system have higher reliability for all the three investigated FSO distances. For the medium haze, the system has shown capability to transfer as far as 7 km. And for the rain condition, the system capability was set to 5 km.</text>
